I've been working with Apache Kafka for over 7 years. I inevitably find myself doing the same set of activities while I'm developing or working with someone else's system. Here's a set of Kafka productivity hacks for doing a few things way faster than you're probably doing them now. 🔥

##How Homakov hacked GitHub and the line of code that could have prevented it
Please note: THIS ARTICLE IS NOT WRITTEN BY THE GITHUB TEAM or in any way associated with them. It's simply hosted as a Gist because the markdown formatting is excellent and far clearer than anything I could manage on my personal Tumblr at peternixey.com.

The purpose of design is to allow you to do design later, and it's primary goal is to reduce the cost of change.
- Single Responsibility Principle: a class should have only a single responsibility
- Open-Closed Principle: Software entities should be open for extension, but closed for modification (inherit instead of modifying existing classes).
- Liskov Substitution: Objects in a program should be replaceable with instances of their subtypes without altering the correctness of that program.
- Interface Segregation: Many client-specific interfaces are better than one general-purpose interface.
Here is a list of scopes to use in Sublime Text 2/3 snippets -
