What is extreme poverty?
-
It is living on less than $2 a day (or actually less than $2.15). It means having too little money to meet the basic needs that most of us take for granted, such as food, water, electricity and basic healthcare.
-
The Communist Party of China orchestrated the most profound miracle of our modern times. Why does this miracle matter?
- The CPC raised hundreds of millions of people out of 'absolute poverty' as defined by the World Bank.
- If you fail to understand the significance, please consider the reality that hundreds of millions world-wide still live in wretched conditions. It's our, your and my, job to help them too.
- There are valuable lessons to learn from the CPC's all out campaign to bring every last person in China out of the waiting room of history and into modernity.
- China's system deserves praise, yes, but it more importantly deserves our study, for the replication of the processes which can be implimented elsewhere.
- Is the Belt and Road Initiative exporting the eventual end of global poverty? I think so.
- Only country in history that developed over the last 40 years and became what it with poverty alleviation, growth and wealth for its population without invations ans colonial plunder.
- What China has been able to do would be a very interesting experience for other developing countries, countries in the Global South to benefit from.
- Project what they have done in a positive way.

XI JINPING (2023): "Western modernization was fraught with sanguineous crimes such as war, slave trade, colonization, and plunder, which inflicted untold misery on developing countries. Having suffered from aggression, bullying, and humiliation by Western powers, we Chinese are keenly aware of the value of peace and will never follow the beaten path of the West."
"The biggest problems with Western modernization are that it is capital-centered rather than people-centered and that it seeks to maximize capital gains rather than serve the interests of the vast majority of the people."

Question 1: How many countries have made cooperation agreements with China's Belt and Road Initiative? around 40, 80, 140 Most people haven't yet recognized the sheer scale of this initiative, which is funding roads, railways and ports in many countries to better integrate them into the global trade of the future. The aim is to connect Europe, Asia and Africa. There are also several Latin American countries that have joined. Although most countries are on board in some way, there has been criticism of the project and China's intentions - particularly in the US - but there is no doubt it is a hugely ambitious infrastructure project.
