  • If you will not be able to complete your journal this week, please provide an update for the Career Dev team on when you’ll have it completed here (remember to reflect on what you have control over, what you want to try differently this week, and what habits you can utilize to get back on track):
  • I have been strugling with keeping up with my PD homework because I have been feeling overwhelmed by the amount of concepts I have been trying to learn and implement in new projects. I have been also noticing that as hard as this feels I am enjoying pushing myself with trying to keep up with my tasks, if i am just able to get done half of what I planned at the begining of the day I can still feel some accomlpishment.
  • Review your habit tracker: how did you monitor your habit(s)? What does this tell you about your overall progress becoming the person you want to be? In general, how satisfied are you with how you spent your time this module? What could be improved next module?
  • One of the main habits I am trying to keep myself accountable for is making use a personal planer where I can keeo track of my daily avtivities, but sometimes there are moments when homework, preteaching concepts and projects take more time than expected and I am still trying to learn how to make my PD homework while coding more efficient.

Mind Maps:

  1. Engagement. What did you reflect on last week in regards to when you’re engaged in your work at Turing? Pull out an idea that resonates with you most (e.g., “Talking through a problem with a partner,” “The moment when I solve a problem that I previously didn’t know how to do,” “Setting up a successful project management process for my team”) and break that idea down into parts and make a list (what are all the steps that go into that moment? When do you get to use your strengths? What is fun about this?).
  • What engages me at Turing is when I find myself on the zone, I have felt it for the fist time at Turing that I can understand and write the code. This is a similar feeling that I used to have while working in my old profession and it has been very positive for my development as a software developer.
  • This current feeling is product of my dedications and time infront of the computter trying to solidify and practice new concepts.
  1. Energy. What did you reflect on last week in regards to when you feel most energized in your work at Turing? Pull out an idea that resonates with you most and break that idea down into parts and make a list (what are all the steps that go into that moment? When do you get to use your strengths? What is fun about this?).
  • I feel energized when I am able to break big problems into small sections that I can solve one at the time, as well as communicating those problems, this allows me to spend time with my love ones instead of being stuck for hours on the same problem.

They way I ressolve this is by:

  1. Making sure I understand the problem
  2. Read the problem
  3. Understand how the code is structured
  4. Read documentation
  5. Ask questions when refacotring other people's code
  6. Ask for help when needed.
  7. Make use of runJS to make a simpler problem ans solve it
  8. Translate the sample problem to the real problem
  • Flow. When have you had an experience recently in which you were in a state of flow? You can also think about this as “joy” or “play.” Pull out an idea that resonates with you most and break that idea down into parts and make a list (what are all the steps that go into that moment? When do you get to use your strengths? What is fun about this?).

When I am on the zone these are the step I follow,

  1. I make sure my work space is clean
  2. I have water available close to me so I don't interrupt my flow
  3. Listen to my body when I need to take a break, this allows me to make faster progress
  4. Organize ideas with the project board
  5. Make a written list of the todo's
  6. Cross activities when done
  • Prototype your mind maps: what do these mind maps tell you about what’s important to you as a software developer? What questions do they bring up about what you still want to learn about this career?
  1. Organization is importnat
  2. Commnications is crucial
  3. Setting clear goals before starting to write any code will be the most benefial at the of the day
  4. Setting up expectations earaly for each project will save you unnecessary issues
  • Who comes to mind as a person you can reach out to? Why that person? What questions would you ask them? Come up with 2-3 people here to serve as prototypes

My mentors, My rock and a friend

  1. Could you recommend me to someone else to talk to?
  2. When you at this staged of my development in your career path, what are the thing you wish you could have done differently?
  3. What are the steps I can start takig today to get a job by the end of Turing?
  4. Would you recommend me to star sending applicaitons?
  • How would this outreach help you further your job search strategy?
  • This will give me a better idea on how to use my time while at Mod 3

Outreach & Networking Plan: Based on your reflections above, create a concrete plan for your outreach:

Who is the right person for you to reach out to?

will start with my mentors.

How will you find them? How do you know they’re the right person?

They already have more professional experience

How will you reach out?

Slack and tuple with direct messages

What questions do you need to ask them?

  1. Could you recommend me to someone else to talk to?
  2. When you at this staged of my development in your career path, what are the thing you wish you could have done differently?
  3. What are the steps I can start takig today to get a job by the end of Turing?
  4. Would you recommend me to star sending applicaitons?

How will you use this information to further your solution?

  1. this will allow me to have a better idea on how to go about the jub hunt

How will you follow up?

Asking for more references so I can keep having more conversations about how to get a job as a software developer Execute your plan:

  • Reach out to your contact THIS WEEK. If possible, reach out to more than one person OR find a meetup to attend also. What happened? What other next steps should you take? If this is a person connected to a company you’re interested in, be sure to add it to your Huntr card.

NOTES

networking is all about asking directions, how did they all go about their job search asking questions to know what it the best or the path that resonates with me where do I want to go need to know where I want to go so I can ask for directions I know I want a remote job, I want to be able to travel and work from diffrent locations what is networking, => it is a community by conenecting, learning about community and building relationships coffee meets is all about a story and asking the questions and find the person who can asnwer those questions + it is not abpout asking for a job warm up reach mentors, guest speaker,
