Rules for the BoxOfDevs Discord server, raw.
**--RULES--**
**1 --> ** No spamming, advertising, or NSFW content. Don't be a jerk or generally obnoxious - nobody likes trolls.
**2 --> ** Please do not mention `@everyone` unless immediate attention is required, we prefer you to use `@here`.
**3 --> ** When asking for help, make sure to provide as much detail as possible. Simply saying, "it's broke yo", or "how 2 make plugin" certainly won't get either of us anywhere. (http://www.nohello.com). In addition to this rule: while we welcome beginners, please try using google or stack overflow first.
**4 --> ** Don't expect us to hold your hand entirely - we can help you understand concepts and locate the correct resources, but not write your code for you. "Help Vampire" is a common term to describe those who try to get others to do everything for them. http://www.skidmore.edu/~pdwyer/e/eoc/help_vampire.htm
**5 --> ** If you need help, and nobody seems to be available at the moment, feel free to mention the @Staff or @Team Member roles. These are people that will accept to be mentionable as such. Don't abuse it, though, or they might mute you.
**6 --> ** Please do not mention or DM individual staff members just for help - you may not get a reply quickly, if at all. It's much better to post your question in the public channels, as it will get more exposure there (more eyeballs will see it :eyes:), and will probably be answered sooner.
**7 --> ** If your username can't be easily mentioned, please set your nickname to something mentionable. For example, "ᐃᑦᑎᓂᖅᓯᐅᑐᖅ ᑕᖅᓴᖅ" isn't particularly useful. (Contact a staff member)
**8 --> ** Try to minimize spam, but if needed, put it in #bot-spam.
**9 --> ** Keep your personal disputes *PRIVATE*, no public squabbling, please resolve your issues privately/in #bot-spam.
**10 --> ** *No racism nor stereotyping*
**11 --> ** Also, don't forget the most important rule of all: *Common sense!*
None of these rules except for common sense and the ones specific for #bot-spam will be enforced in #bot-spam, as most users have the channel muted.
**--PUNISHMENTS--**
**1 --> ** A kick from the server
**2 --> ** A reset of your experience with @Mee6#4876
**3 --> ** A ban from the server
**4 --> ** Reduced permissions (not allowed to send messages for __ period of time)
The likely system is below:
**First violation:** A warning
**Second violation:** A warning
**Third violation:** An Exp reset or a kick, depending on how much Exp you have.
**Fourth violation:** Reduced permissions
**Fifth violation:** PERMA BAN
If you exploit the rules repeatedly, and on purpose, a warning will not be given and punishment will be dealt immediately.
