Ans - Yeah, of course, you can start from scratch. There are no prerequisites for the process.
Ans - One cannot be a part of any Pragyan team if he/she is in delta. Though there is no hard rule, in general, a person can be part of only one technical club at a time.
Ans - Development is our major work, but we are not just limited to that. Every member of the club is constantly encouraged to learn new domains including ML and Game dev. We have multiple projects in all kinds of domains. For example, the Bot for Beer Factory was a Reinforcement Learning agent. We consider algos to be essential to all forms of programming and believe that every programmer should know algorithms. For that reason, we do not have a separate algos profile for inductions, but we do a lot of algorithms and have qualified in several ICPC events over the years.
Ans - We highly recommened completing the tasks given during the mentorship if you have access to a laptop. (Even an old computer is fine, we will help you speed things up!). However, we also have something in store for those without acess to any computer.
Ans - All first years are eligible to apply for the summer mentorship. However, only B.Tech and B.Arch first years can partake in the normal induction process. We will have an alternate process for others.
Ans - Yes, you are allowed to and you can drop out of any profile at any point in time during the process. But you have to make sure that you complete the tasks in any one profile.
Ans - Yes, Non-CSE people can participate in the induction process. Your department doesn’t matter to us. As seen previously in this stream, we have people from various departments.
Ans - A week after the start of the registration process, you will be allocated a mentor for each profile you choose, and the first task for your mentorship process will start from 10th May.
Ans - You can register on the induction site directly, which will help you connect to your mentor and keep updated with all the notifications we release related to the tasks and resources you need.
Ans - We only look for the enthusiasm, motivation, and the ability to learn quickly
Ans - If you are confused as to which domain to start with, apply for all and see which profile aligns with your interests the best.
Ans - In each of the 3 domains, there are a few choices when it comes to languages. We will provide you resources for all of them and let you choose.
Ques - In case I apply for more than one profile, can I dropout from any of the profiles at any time? Is profile changing possible once into the team?
Ans - Yes, you will be allowed to dropout / change your preferences at any time. Though joining multiple profiles only widens your knowledge and at selection your expertise in a single domain is what will be evaluated you will have to narrow down to one profile at the end, that is during the onsite inductions. Profile restrictions exist only for the induction process and you're free to engage in any profile after joining Delta!
Ans - Yes, separate resources will be provided for each domain. You will also be allotted a separate mentor for each profile who will guide u throughout the process
Ans - That’s what the mentorship process is there for. You can learn during the induction as you get enough time to learn and do the tasks. All we are looking for is the motivation and will to learn and explore new things.
Ans - There is no limit on the number of members we induct every year. You are welcome in the club if you possess a passion for coding.
Ans - This depends on the process. After the mentorship process ends, you will be called for the final process of induction, where you may have multiple sets of interviews.
Ans - In programming, understanding the basics is essential. We work on several projects using Flutter, React Native, etc. However, for the induction process, keeping in mind that a lot of applicants are beginners, we require you to develop Native Android apps. But you are free to work on any tech stack after getting into the club.
