Hello,

I am Antoine Cordelois, CTO of the Paris Institute for Advanced Studies. I'm looking for a Web developer on a fixed-term full time contract who would be working on a permanent contract within 12 months max if all goes well.

General profile:

  • Fluent English written and read. French level: fluent or native mandatory
  • Remote job, full time. We have beautiful offices in Paris which are also an option.
  • Senior/intermediate level. A more junior profile can be considered if she/he is comfortable with most of the stack, learns fast and is willing to train.
  • Experienced in teamwork, good communicator, able to lead very experienced freelancers and to take initiative or even lead on some projects.

Our stack (the more boxes you check, the better):

  • Basic Web (HTML CSS JS)
  • Vue
  • Nuxt
  • Vuetify
  • MongoDB & Atlas search
  • GraphQL
  • i18n and its Vue/Nuxt implementation
  • Vuex
  • UX UI knack, Material Design in particular
  • Git / Github / Github actions
  • Jest, Puppeteer, and other testing tools to be defined
  • Terraform
  • Terragrunt
  • NodeJS
  • Shell
  • AWS IAM
  • AWS Appsync
  • AWS Lambda
  • AWS SNS, SES, SQS
  • AWS S3 & Cloudfront
  • Web scrapping
  • JAMstack
  • JWT (custom implementation)

Who are we?

The Paris IEA is a non-profit organization made of 10 permanent staff members who welcome and host high-level foreign researchers. Under the impetus of its new director, we are developing several non-profit platforms and infrastructures, promoting causes for the common good, open and neutral science, and open culture in general.

Among several other projects, the World Pandemic Research Network (wprn.org) has become the largest repository of ongoing scientific projects related to Covid (Humanities and economics, non-medical consequences). Many other things are in progress.

We have developed a serverless platform generation infrastructure that manages from A to Z the deployment and production of websites from a back-office or via continuous integration. Hence the terraform/terragrunt in the stack.

I'm in charge of all the technical part with freelancers in support. I'm looking for another qualified and motivated developer who would like to join the team, take over some tasks and possibly take the lead on others.

Salary, prospects and benefits

  • Salary will be in line with the profile. The job description is very specific and the ability to match it + the level of skills will be the main criteria.
  • An open-ended contract is possible if everything goes well.
  • You will be working on several projects, none of them for profit, and you have a good chance to cross paths with a Nobel Prize winner. :-)

How to Apply

Please write your answer in french and provide the following information for your application, if available:

- Basic info (CV is a +)
- A 1 to 5 rating of your skill confidence/level estimation in each of the stack elements (1 === weak).

I'll try to answer every application but I cannot guarantee it. Thank you in advance if you step forward for this job.
