notes: |
I wasn't able to properly test the 1/200 setting as the Trip 35 closes the aperture right down in bright light so there's not enough light to trigger the light sensor on the test apparatus.
A visual test confirms that it is toggling into the faster shutter speed in bright light.

These are from expired bulk 30m rolls loaded (in the dark) onto reusable cassettes. They are loaded to 24 exposures (and a bit) using the the bulk loader settings
but I generally get up to 30 or so if I load the camera in the dark bag and shoot the leader.
The cassettes can be reloaded, as well as being handy for homemade pinhole cameras or bodging medium format cameras for sprocket hole photography.
* Ilford FP4+ : 125 ISO : Expired Feb 2002. This seems pretty much as good as new and fine shot / developed at box speed.
* Ilford HP5+ : 400 ISO : Expired Oct 2008. Might be a little more contrasty/grainy/dark than it should be, so may be better shot at ISO 320. (Last 3 test pics were shot using it at 400 ISO).
about:
title: About the Olympus Trip 35.
body: |
Introduced in 1967 and discontinued in 1984, the Trip 35 is a fully automatic, point and shoot compact camera, the name a reference to its intended market - people who wanted a compact, functional camera for holidays.
The Trip operates completely without batteries, its light meter and automatic exposure system is solar powered
With a coated Zuiko 40mm f2.8 lens, solar-powered selenium light meter, and just two shutter speeds, the Trip 35 has an aperture range of f2.8 to f22 and ISO settings between 25–400 (earlier models had a maximum ISO speed of 200).
