General Rules

Submission Rules

An AutoSplitter for Subliminal is currently unavailable, but will be required once available

  • All runs require video proof, with full in-game audio
    • Runs should NOT include audio from any other sources besides the game (Such as Discord, Browsers, etc); this can cause disruption in run validation and may lead to your run being discredited.
  • A timer is not required, but is recommended to ensure and assist with run validation
  • Time must be shown in milliseconds.
  • Splicing is forbidden, and if caught will lead to your run being discredited.
  • Tabbing out of your game and/or causing the recording to not show your game POV is considered obstruction of gameplay and is not allowed
  • Console commands or 3rd party programs that can give an advantage are forbidden.
  • POV must be compliant with the service TOS, if they are age-restricted they will be denied
  • Modifying game files to gain an advantage is strictly forbidden
  • Max time for an Any% run is 3 hours
  • Max time for a Level% run is 20 minutes
  • All runs are required to start from the Main Menu.
    • Single Level and Death% Runs can also start from the Level Reset or Level Selector menus.
    • Runs will also be accepted if POV shows resetting from an active run (Using Level Selector to fresh-reset to the first level, with evidence of the run being reset)
  • Abusing loading removal is not allowed (eg: pausing the game on a level transition and picking up the cones in Metro), pausing on level transitions to change settings is allowed

Category Rules: Any% Glitchless

Goal

  • Complete the game.
    • If playing Demo 1.0 or 1.1: Hotel -> Basement Nostalgia -> The Metro -> RUN

    • This is indicated by when you are given user-control (Level ambience starts in loading screen, such as the TV static in Hotel)
  • Time ends when the ending screen is displayed (Upon completion of RUN!)

Rules

  • Glitches are not allowed. Your run must remain within Game bounds.
  • Your run must be a "new game" state and you must show that transition from the Main Menu to the Loading Screen.

  • Cheats are not allowed.
  • Console commands or 3rd party programs that give an advantage are forbidden.
  • Runs submitted must be labeled with the version of the game used, given the highly changing nature of Subliminal.
  • Deaths are not allowed in runs (Since the ending screen is the same as the normal death screen)
