Hey! If you're getting this link, this means I would like to deliver a physical thing to you. I usually use our postal service for that, it tends to be way cheaper than airline tickets back and forth - typically. Here are the requirements to get the thing delivered to you. I wrote them down because I've went through the "here are the options and requirements" song and dance with others before, and I wouldn't like to rehash it all the time, or forget something that you could make use of.

TL;DR?

Here's the address info I'll need to get the package to you. It can be your work address, a friend's address, or a relative's address too - I don't care.

  • Full or partial name (could be fake, see below)
  • Address: street, house, [apartment]
  • City, Country
  • Postcode
  • Phone number (optional, can be burner, see below)
  • Email address (optional, can be burner, see below)

Requirements?

  • Some kind of name to receive something. Incorrect name can only be a problem on your end, so if you're using a PO box or single-family house address, feel free to give whatever, I guess? The way I use to mail packages, might require a signature upon delivery, which means that your post office might not ask for signature or ID, but hopefully you've received packages before and are aware of your post office's modus operandi. Again, work/friend's/relative's address works for me - I don't care!
    • Warning: if the package will go through customs (i.e. you don't reside within the EU), having your legal name (or someone else's legal name) on the package might be required in order to complete the paperwork and, maybe, pay import taxes if that applies. If you receive packages in your name from other countries, you'll have experience relevant to that. Let me know if you need the declared value to be of some specific amount, or if you need info on the customs data I used.
  • Phone (and email address) are not required. I add the phone number to the label when you give it to me, but I don't typically put the email address on there. Let me know if I should do otherwise. This might be useful because, in some countries (like mine!), postal service can send you SMS about a package waiting at the post office, maybe, even for customs.
  • Street/house number[/apt number], or PO box number, whichever you're using.
  • City, country, [region in case that's relevant to your country]
  • Postcode (very important, do not miss!)

If you need the declared value for customs purposes when the package arrives, please do ask me, I keep digital copies of all of the labels unless asked not to (see below).

Address? That is private information!

Valid! Here are some options and considerations for you.

  1. Yet again, feel free to use your work office's address, a friend's address, a relative's address, a work address of a friend of a relative, even an address of someone in another country. I genuinely do not care, as long as you take care of the last mile yourself where needed.
  2. Also feel free to ask for a "sensitive information"-ish Protonmail email ir Signal number, on the platform where we are talking. This can be useful in case you don't want your address to remain in DMs on Twitter/Telegram/wherever, or any other reasons. Discord seems to support mutually assured deletion, so it's not the worst option either. That said, if you need me to delete a message on my end on some other platform, let me know and I'll happily oblige.

After I create a shipping label, your shipping information will remain in our postal service's web UI. Let me know in advance if you'll want me to delete your shipping information from there - for what 'delete' is worth in their UI. Sure does make the record not appear on my end anymore, at least! It will also typically remain as a PDF on my computer - ditto for that, let me know.

If you're ordering something from my Tindie store, I will see the full shipping information you put there, as well as your phone number and email address. This makes sense because sellers do their own fulfillment, but it is good that you know this. On the flipside, if you want to cover my shipping expenses, do not hesitate to buy something cheap from my store as a proxy - and feel free ask for a $5 coupon!

Sending things to me

If you need to mail something to me, please contact me directly. My mailing address is not the same as an address where I can receive packages reliably, so if you've received a package for me, do not use the same address to mail it back - contact me.
