Prosperity Vote

Please read this and let it help you make an informed descision for the 1.18 reset vote, this is not meant to influence your opinion, only to help you make an informed choice.

The 1.18 update is a bit of a mess, performance wise especially, in addition to this, it makes notable changes that affect technical play specifically. These include the lighting spawning changes and changes related to Y height spawning.

Wait

This option would delay the 1.18 reset vote until an undefined date in the future, to see what mods update for better performance, to see the finalized update, and, in general, know exactly what we are going into.

Pros

  • Doesn't break current farms
  • Good performance

Cons

  • Want to play on the new update
  • Potentially boring
  • Bad for attracting new players

Upgrade

In this option we would keep the current world, and upgrade to 1.18 is soon as possible.

Pros

  • Likely not to scare off current players
  • Keep all current progress

Cons

  • Terrain merging issues
  • 1.18 changes causing issues
  • Poor performance

Reset

If we choose to reset, then we will completely reset the server, not keep any builds, resources, or anything else from the current server. We will be able to choose a new seed, and start fresh on 1.18.

Pros

  • Organized from the start
  • No terrain merging issues
  • No reworking current farms
  • More inviting for new players

Many players wish to join a new server rather than one that has already been established and has a lot of active players

Cons

  • We lose all progress
  • Potetially scare off current players
  • Generic server

A lot of servers will reset or be created around this time, potentially making Prosperity generic
