@CharlieScarver I reckon 'The eyes' is a good episode but also has a bit of plot for the ice king showing how since he became the ice king he doesn't understand friendship and is intrigued with finn and jakes one. Basically the foreshadowing or the start of their future friendship. Its season 2 episode 2 btw.

I've started watching through your list with my partner (great list BTW) - it's so enjoyable to experience the show like this.

I just started Season 7.

So far I have these thoughts (all minor suggestions**).

Choose Goose gets introduced during "Finn the Human", which is a strange introduction to the character (his alt universe version).
I think he should be introduced on his debut: "Blood Under the Skin" Season 2 episode 4 or "The Real You" Season 2 Episode 15 - this one also shows the earth (partially destroyed) for the first time!!

I'd say the same with Tree Trunks. Arguably a more important character. In the current list, she's already married to Mr. Pig when first introduced!! She should be introduced with "Tree Trunks" Season 1 Episode 4 I'd also check out "Crystals have Power" Season 2 Episode 8 (it even has Jake + Germaine plot elements) - I guess her entire plot line could be more present.

I also noticed after watching Season 7 Episode 3 "Cherry Cream Soda" that we don't really get a proper intro/back story on Starchy. That episode really lands if you understand that he's a gravedigger, etc... Maybe Season 1 Episode 1 "Slumber Party Panic" should be considered his debut, also introduces tree trunks, other candy people.... I guess his plot line is also underserved

Finally after watching all four episodes of Distant Lands specials- There should likely be more episodes that explore Wizard City, like Season 5 Episode 26 "Wizards Only, Fools" probably a few more related to the city - It's also a Starchy plot episode!

Anyways, I think your list is bomb and these are just stray thoughts that have popped up while binge watching haha

I forked the gist and added episode 24 of season 1, in which Ice King reveals a tiny bit of info about his crown at the start of the episode.
Didn't know you couldn't do pull requests with gists, so here I am suggesting the addition instead.
Put it with one asterisk, but might warrant two.

Hey guys,

Updated the list according to some of the latest comments.
I added s1e24*, s2e02* and s5e19** (had missed this episode before and love James Baxter haha).
Haven't had the time to review and encorporate all suggestions from the comments yet but I'll try doing it soon!

I dont know if this still gets updated but, in Season 5 Episode 16 "Puhoy" is the first mention of Golb and maybe tat should be put in reason aswell. Or could just be put down as references future events.

Is s3, ep2 arguably Lich development as you can see the Lich snail before jake and finn enter the arena and with a greenish border which they must pass through which is also the Lich's colour scheme?

I think adding the missing 2 Fionna and Cake universe episodes in anticipation of the new series would be useful for those catching up (S06E09, S08E09)

i dont know why no one mentioned yet, but why is S1E3: Prisoners of Love not in the list? Isn't the episode that introduces Ice King and his whole deal?

Made a few checks as per the latest comments to make sure everything is correct.

  • Added first sighting of GOLB in the description of Puhoy
  • I see your point for S03E02 but the snail is tiny and it doesn't seem like there's enough story there to put it in, at least for me
  • King’s Ransom is correctly listed as S07E21
  • Lemonhope Pt.2 is already added
  • Season 7 finale is already included
  • Hm, I'm not 100% sure about the other Fionna and Cake episodes. Generally wanted to include only main story stuff in this list and it's gotten so big already. I'll think about it
  • Added S01E03 Prisoners of Love although not completely sure about it

Heya. Know this is old but using this to introduce the show to a friend currently and noticed S02E20 Go With Me isn't on the list. I'd argue this is a super important one as it is the first glimpse into Marceline and PB's dynamic and also concretely rules out Marceline as a love interest of Finn's. Otherwise list is pretty spot on so far! Thanks for making it

This list is fine but i think there should be two more categories, ! which will be major parts of the series like (but not limited to): S1E1, S1E3, S5E48, S5E48, S10E13 and so on; and = which will be key parts to spinoffs like the new fionna and cake or the distant lands. 👍 (PS, its okay to have a episode have more than one key mark)

If you're interested, I created a fork of this repo over on my page that includes the Fionna episodes, along with some other F&C show related ones, like "Up a Tree" (The squirrel guy is back!), all of the Cuber episodes, and the guest-animated episodes (since they all look cool and won awards)

If you're interested, I created a fork of this repo over on my page that includes the Fionna episodes, along with some other F&C show related ones, like "Up a Tree" (The squirrel guy is back!), all of the Cuber episodes, and the guest-animated episodes (since they all look cool and won awards)

Honestly, these changes should be merged into this one. They're very good.

season 6 episode 8, has APTWE not with any real backstory but weirdly has a Fiona and Cake intro to the episode, and Season 6 episode 9 is actually a Fiona and Cake episode

i personally think hall of egress (S08E24) should be slightly more important? Finn does technically go throught around a year of being blinded mentally, even if that said year never really happened and only to him? I think its pretty Finn developement

Also, Dungeon Train (S5EP36) is, in my opinion, atleast a bit important? it portrays how Finn tries to move on of Flame Princess via addiction to the dungeon train instead of coping. atleast ** important.

Gonna note The New Frontier(S3EP18) because it could be **? it shows how much Finn doesn't want Jake to die, which i note important with Fionna and Cake's Finn.
