All measures are approximate, I don't really measure stuff.
Ingredients:
- ½ red cabbage
- 250ml cider vinegar
- 1 red apple (I used braeburn)
- ½ red onion
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Salt & Pepper to your taste
Steps:
- Dice the red onion into roughly half-centimeter pieces and add to a large bowl
- Dice the apple into roughly half-centimeter pieces and add to the same bowl
- Shred the cabbage into roughly half-centimeter wide strips. The strips may be longer than you want to feel free to cut them down into more managable pieces. Add to the bowl.
- Mix the cabbage, red onion and apple together until well distributed.
- Scatter the sugar, salt and pepper over the mixture.
- Pour the vinegar over the mixture.
- Cover and shake to ensure it's well mixed.
- Put in the fridge for at least an hour, shaking or mixing it every so often so that it all sits in the vinegar for a period of time.
