Some dialogue changes based on whether the game was registered with a mobile phone:
Before registering: "For battles, I'd much rather use POKéMON I've been raising, even if they're weaker than some newly caught POKéMON."
After registering: "Do you battle by mobile phone? If time runs out during a battle, waiting to see who won is really nerve wracking."
Before registering: "What are JOHTO's POKéMON CENTERS like? …Oh, I see. So they're not much different from the ones in KANTO. I can go to JOHTO without worrying, then!"
After registering: "What are JOHTO's POKéMON CENTERS like? …Oh, I see. So they let you link with people far away? Then I'll get my friend in JOHTO to catch a MARILL and trade it to me!"
Before registering: "The way the KIMONO GIRLS dance is marvelous. Just like the way they use their POKéMON."
After registering: "You must be hoping to battle more people, right? There's apparently some place where trainers gather. Where, you ask? It's a little past OLIVINE CITY."
Before registering: "Speaking of the RADIO STATION, what's this week's lucky number?"
After registering: "I was going to make my debut at the BATTLE TOWER… I should go back to VERMILION and redo my training…"
Before registering: "Hm! There's a big building up ahead! What is it?"
After registering: "Hm! Look at all those serious- looking trainers streaming in. What? What?"
English ROM: "Why did those ancient patterns appear on the wall now? The mystery deepens…"
Japanese ROM: "We think something caused the cryptic patterns to appear in the RUINS. We've focused our studies on that."
Japanese ROM after registering: "According to my research… Those mysterious patterns appeared when the POKéCOM CENTER was built. It must mean that radio waves have some sort of a link…"
English ROM: "Looking at the ground while I was walking made me dizzy."
Japanese ROM: "I love being surrounded by tall buildings! Isn't it true that GOLDENROD POKéMON CENTER was made much, much bigger? That is so neat! I wish we had a place like that in KANTO…"
