[17:16] <DEADB33F> kemitche, you about?
[17:16] <DEADB33F> Is there any clue as to what's causing the massive update delays when altering stylesheets on busy subreddits?
[17:18] <@kemitche> hrm
[17:18] <@kemitche> lemme check something
[17:19] <DEADB33F> The stylesheet hash value seemingly isn't being updated on pages requested after the stylesheet has been updated.
[17:20] <DEADB33F> Eg. I updated the stylesheet in /r/politics over 8 hours ago, yet the hash value appended to the stylesheet link href hasn't changed.
[17:21] <DEADB33F> If it's changed manually by editing the page source correct stylesheet is displayed.
[17:25] <DEADB33F> No wait, the hash is being updated, but the page still isn't reflecting the changes.
[17:27] <@kemitche> DEADB33F: (09:27:15 AM) alienth: aw fuck, i know what happened
[17:27] <@kemitche> we're fixing it
[17:28] <@kemitche> delays should be no more than 10 min now
[17:28] <DEADB33F> Awesome. Waiting several days for CSS updates was getting old.
[17:29] <DEADB33F> What was causing it not to update?
[17:29] <@alienth> DEADB33F: a combo of a few different things :P
[17:30] <@alienth> sometimes the new hash sends the old data
[17:30] <@alienth> which gets cached in our web caching layers
[17:30] <@alienth> sometime soon, it should be entirely fixed
[17:34] <DEADB33F> Awesome. |
