SCP-5127

"Burrito Spiders"

Anomaly Report

Item #:

SCP-5127

Object Class:

Keter

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-5127 is currently uncontainable due to its widespread nature and ability to manifest in any location where its prey resides. Mobile Task Force Delta-5 ("Spider Eaters") is assigned to track and intercept any public incidents involving SCP-5127, with the aim of minimizing public exposure and knowledge of the anomaly. All affected areas are to be quarantined and subjected to Protocol 19-B ("Extermination"), followed by amnestic treatment of witnesses and fabrication of cover stories as necessary.

Description:

SCP-5127 refers to a species of anomalous arachnids that superficially resemble a common burrito in both appearance and texture. Adult specimens average 30 cm in length and have a variable coloration, typically mimicking the appearance of a wrapped burrito with ingredients visible at one end. Unlike traditional spiders, SCP-5127 does not possess visible legs when in a state of rest; however, when agitated or hunting, it will unfurl eight long, thin appendages from underneath its body. These limbs are highly dexterous and end in sharp points, which SCP-5127 uses to impale and immobilize its prey.

SCP-5127 exhibits extreme aggression towards humans and is capable of inducing severe psychological distress through unknown means. Victims report experiencing an overwhelming urge to consume SCP-5127 before realizing its true nature, often leading to self-inflicted injuries or madness. SCP-5127 secretes a highly corrosive substance capable of dissolving human flesh on contact, which it uses to pre-digest and consume its prey.

Discovery:

SCP-5127 was first encountered in [REDACTED], Mexico, after a series of bizarre incidents involving missing persons were reported in the area. Foundation agents embedded in local law enforcement were alerted to the anomaly after discovering a partially consumed victim surrounded by what were initially thought to be discarded fast food items. Further investigation led to the capture of a live specimen and the revelation of its anomalous properties.

Addendums

Addendum 5127-1: Experiment Log

  • 5127-1a: D-Class personnel instructed to approach SCP-5127 in containment. Subject reported feeling "uncontrollably hungry" before attempting to bite into SCP-5127, resulting in severe facial injuries and subsequent termination.

  • 5127-2b: SCP-5127 exposed to a live pig in a controlled environment. SCP-5127's limbs extended to impale the animal, which was then coated in the corrosive substance and consumed over a period of 3 hours. The efficiency and brutality of the feeding process suggest an evolutionary adaptation for rapid nutrient absorption.

Addendum 5127-2: Incident Report 5127-α

On [DATE REDACTED], a mass outbreak of SCP-5127 occurred in [REDACTED], leading to [REDACTED] civilian casualties and the temporary lockdown of the city. MTF Delta-5 deployed Protocol 19-B and managed to contain the outbreak after 72 hours of continuous operation. The incident resulted in the reclassification of SCP-5127 to Keter due to its evident ability to rapidly reproduce and spread under unknown conditions.

Closing Notes:

SCP-5127 represents a significant threat to both individual safety and the masquerade of normalcy maintained by the Foundation. Research into its origins, reproductive methods, and potential weaknesses is ongoing. All personnel are advised to exercise extreme caution when dealing with any instances of SCP-5127 and to report any sightings of anomalous arthropods immediately.
