Caution

STOP! In 2024, this will not fix your issue. Do not comment, as you will not get a response. This was for a problem with the old Adblock in June of 2023. Consider this Gist closed. Along with this, the old Adblock has been deprecated, with a new codebase, this is NOT the issue. I will leave this up because I don't feel like taking it down.

a sticky situation

with a new update to spotify, recently adblock (a spicetify extension) has had its adblocking for audio completely disabled. i was effected by this so i made a workaround. your gonna need the following

  • spicetify
  • adblock
  • and a working internet connection

alright, lets get started. first your gonna need to download this file. after doing that, decompress the file and move noWatchTime.js to the extensions folder.

extension folder:

Platform Path
Linux ~/.config/spicetify/Extensions or $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/.config/spicetify/Extensions/
MacOS ~/spicetify_data/Extensions or $SPICETIFY_CONFIG/Extensions
Windows %appdata%\spicetify\Extensions\

from https://github.com/CharlieS1103/spicetify-extensions/tree/main/adblock

after doing that run spicetify apply in your terminal and then you should have it. to confirm you do have it, while having spotify selected, use Ctrl+Shift+I. if it opens and you see in tiny text [No Watch Time] Blocked! in green font, you have done it.

nah it doesn't allow you to upload JS files

Hello !
I've extracted and run /spicetify apply but when I do Control+Shift+I it doesnt show anything
And of course I still have the ad :/ can you help me please ?

This problem should be fixed now. Just update to the latest version of Spicetify, Spotify and Adblock.
This was for issues in Jun 2023. If you have an issue now, please go to the Adblock GitHub repository and make an issue there. @F3l12 @Kazent0

This Gist doesn't apply to your problem anymore!
Please do not comment saying this doesn't work. Update all your versions, and make an issue in Adblock, I am no longer going to respond to messages inside of this Gist. This was for issues in June 2023!

Caution

The old adblock (applied for this issue) has been deprecated. This means that now, you have no reason to be here. This WILL NOT solve your issue.
