Details

Trial run first "Official" LG Hackathon, where we try and bring in sponsers, recruiters and such to participate in our week week long version.

Other 3 will be held as opt-in (optional participation) during shortened weeks.

Proposed Schedule:

  • Week of January 15th: Martin Luther King Jr. LG Hackathon (theme/focus: social justice, black lives matter, supporting oakland locals, diversity++)
  • Week of Apr. 1st: April Fools LG Hackathon (theme/focus: games/media apps/random ideas)
  • Week of July 9th (two weeks prior guild is closed, week before is July 4th shortened) Official LG Hackathon Week!!!! (theme: build your dream app)
  • Week of Nov. 19th: 2nd Annual Turkey-Day LG Hackathon (theme/focus: api-fest, build any app using at least 1 external api)

Notes:

  • The three held during shortened weeks will be optional but highly encouraged.
  • The official annual LG hackathon will be an integrated week of a hackathon, speakers, maybe sponsers, a whole big shebang!
