WDI Denver Capstones

Timeline

  • 10 calendar days to work on your capstone
    • Will start on Tuesday Jan 21st
    • Code freeze will be Wed the 30th
    • Presentations will be on Thursday the 31st

Requirements

  • Complete project proposal
    • Approved by instructor
  • Full-stack application
    • Front-end-framework JavaScript (React, Vue, Angular, Ember)
    • Full CRUD functionality
    • At least 1 major unfamiliar technology
  • Participate in practice presentations leading up to final presentation

Oftentimes, some students choose to build projects that aren't traditional web applications. There is potential for some wiggle room regarding the full CRUD requirement (and potentially others). All Capstone projects will be approved on a case by case basis, taking into account the types of technology that the student has chosen to use. As such, the requirements above apply for almost all projects, but are not 100% set in stone.

Expectations

  • Be on campus while working on your project, so that you can:
    • Get help from instructors
    • Get help from peers
  • Participate in the practice presentations
    • Help you get reps before the showcase
    • Get feedback from instructors on how to improve
    • Demonstrate progress as the capstone period progresses
  • Work hard
    • This is your final project to showcase all that you have learned at Galvanize
    • One of the most important pieces of your resume
    • 5 Commits a day
