New ES6 constructor features and semantics: Alternative 2 manual super in derived classes

New ES6 Constructor Semantics and Usage Examples

Manual super: Alternative Design where subclass constructors do not automatically call superclass constructors

This Gist presents a new design of class-based object construction in ES6 that does not require use of the two-phase @@create protocol.

One of the characteristics of this proposal is that subclass constructors must explicitly super invoke their superclass's constructor if they wish to use the base class' object allocation and initialization logic.

An alternative version of this design automatically invokes the base constructor in most situations.

Learn the LLVM C++ API by example.

The easiest way to start using the LLVM C++ API by example is to have LLVM generate the API usage for a given code sample. In this example it will emit the code required to rebuild the test.c sample by using LLVM:

$ clang -c -emit-llvm test.c -o test.ll
$ llc -march=cpp test.ll -o test.cpp

Avoid live "then()-ables"

Like a Promise, await will call any .then() function on its operand. This can be used to create values that change every time they are awaited.

let lastId = 1;
const id = {
  then(fn, errfn) {
    fn(lastId++);
 }
