An Argument for the Salvation of Our Spider Bros

INTRO:
-People hate spiders because they fear spiders. Spiders are gross and mysterious. People fear what they don't understand.
-I am going to give you a few reasons (in 5 minutes) why you should get chummy with your spider bros.

Worst and Deadliest Spiders in CO
-There is only one deadly spider in CO: the infamous Black Widow. Dubiously named because it turns people into widows. 
-Brown Recluse, tarantulas, etc do not NATURALLY exist in CO. 
-Lived in CO 26 years, and I've seen a Black Widow 3 times. 

Why do Spiders Bite?
-They don't. 
  -Most 'spider' bites are simply bug bites that can be blamed on fleas, ticks, earwigs, mosquitos, or bed bugs.
  -Spiders are unceremoniously and unjustly blamed for every mysterious bug bite people have when they wake up in the morning.
-When they do bite:
  -They are either killing another bug, or
  -you are provoking it. Spiders will not seek out and attack humans. Like any other natural animal, they will simply defend their space
  or their safety. If you see a Black Widow, do not stick your finger in its face and you'll be fine 100% of the time.
  
Spider Lives Matter!
-Spiders keep nasty bugs out of your house.
-They devour pests.
-You rarely even know they are there, defending your frontlines from bed bugs and earwigs.
-Lastly, the consume the truely egregious bug in the animal kingdom: THE MOSQUITO.

Spider Kills vs. Mosquito Kills
- Spiders kill about 6 people in the US every year. More people die to bees, wasps, and dogs. Worldwide data on Spider-bite caused death
is not attainable because it is so small. Can guestimate at 50-100 human deaths worldwide in a year. 
-Mosquitos kill 1 million people world wide!!! They suck!

Spiders are your bros!
-Reasons to love spiders:
  -They defend your home from pests.
  -They don't bite you, despite what you think.
  -They rarely kill you.
  -They slaughter mosquitos by the thousands.
  
-Reasons to hate spiders:
  -They are scary and mysterious
  -Arachnophobia
