- Please list the top 3-5 industries and companies you'll pursue in your job search as of right now.
- I'm very open to different kinds of industries. Ideally, I'd prefer working in the private sector rather than government or non-profit. I'm open to a tech company, a non-tech company that needs developers, or an agency that takes contracts/projects. I have a background in sales, customer service, and academia. I really enjoy training/mentoring and building relationships with individuals. I'd like to have my hands on code regularly and I'd like to work somewhere that values test-driven development. I'd also like a job where I can work on creating and fostering relationships with clients and/or teammates.
- Why did you pick the industries/companies that you listed above? How do they relate to the values and goals you have for yourself in your job search?
- I'm interested in a position with opportunities to continue my education and have a company-given mentor. I'd also like to work with a company that really values diversity, inclusion, and transparency to create an equitable environment. Benefits, PTO/flexible time off, and a good work-life balance are all really important to me. I'd like to expand my UX/UI skills, so I'm hoping that anywhere I end up, I can continue to hone these skills. As a competitive person, I don't mind being in a competitive environment, but I'd prefer a more relaxed place. Overall, I feel like I'm really open and flexible at this point.
- How does your LinkedIn currently reflect your goals and industry interests? What changes will you need to make to your LinkedIn to better reflect these?
- I spent a lot of time in my PD group and with my mentor working on my LinkedIn page. I have added all of the necessary sections - a photo, a bio/summary, previous work experience, and I've added a few projects to the features section. I'm planning on revisiting my resume and adding that to my features section as well.
