Toontown Test Release Notes
March 19, 2010 [sv1.0.39.33.test]
Hey Test Toons, a few wacky things seem to be happening again, and we need your help testing them!
Toon Estates have gone wackier than usual! It looks like Toon Gravity has been lowered - how high can you go?
Please interact with your pet Doodle at your Estate and see what's really on their mind!
Some Neighborhood Characters have gone for a stroll, try to find each, and be sure to say hello when you do!
Also, the latest issue of "Toon News ..." just hit the virtual news stand, read all about the loopy things happening around Toontown!
This may look like a joke, but they sure seem real to us!
NOTE*** The "wacky" things will start happening on 3/20 at midnight, run for a couple of hours, then stop for a short period of time, then start again, for the entire day. This will repeat for the next few days as we test how the new code behaves. Please let us know if you find any issues or bugs, especially around the times these "wacky" things start or stop happening! ***

Fixed some Parties related crash bugs. Parties should be more stable now!
Fixed issue where if a Toon in a Party Cannon disconnected his or her Toon head would be “stuck” in the Cannon. This was only a graphics glitch and should not have prevented other Toons from using the Cannon.
*** KNOWN ISSUES ***
There is a bug with the Parties Trampoline where a Toon may become stuck mid air in the jump pose, at the beginning of the activity. To avoid this, please do not press the Ctrl key until the instructions panel is gone and the upper right corner clock has started counting down. This will ensure that you do not become stuck and have to lose your turn on the Trampoline by hopping off. We are working to fix this bug and should have a solution by the next update.
A rare occurrence with the Parties Cannons may cause your Toon to appear to be both inside the Cannon and outside at the same time. This problem will fix itself when the Cannon fires either when the timer runs out or when you press the Ctrl key. We are working hard to fix this problem and hope to have a solution by the next update.
The Toon Council appreciates the efforts of all TEST Toons in helping us make Toontown the best place to be! Please be sure to fill out a bug report here when you do encounter a bug or a problem. Reports with detailed and complete descriptions will help us the most. Thank you and as always, TEST Toons of the World UNITE!

December 05, 2008 [sv1.0.37.1.test]
Attention Test Toons!
Players have asked for more ways to chat in-game, and we’ve listened! The Toon Council is proud to announce our latest addition to Toontown: SpeedChat Plus!
Here is what you need to know to help us test this exciting new feature.
What is SpeedChat Plus:
SpeedChat Plus is a form of type chat that allows users to communicate by using the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary. Words that are not in the dictionary will be highlighted in red. You then have the opportunity to choose alternative words prior to sending your message.
How do I enable SpeedChat Plus:
SpeedChat Plus, along with your other chat options, is managed through the Preferences section of Member Services. Click here to go to the Preferences section now and select SpeedChat Plus. Then use the Parent Password linked with your account to turn this feature on.
How to use SpeedChat Plus:
Once SpeedChat Plus has been enabled, you can start using SpeedChat Plus in-game by typing words on your keyboard — or — by clicking on the blue “Type Chat” button in the upper-left corner of the play screen. Your messages are viewable to all who have SpeedChat Plus enabled within your vicinity. If you are whispering to a specific player, only that player will see your message.*** NOTE *** currently if you try to Whisper to a player, the blue “Type Chat” button in the Whisper chat panel is disabled. This will be fixed in the next release.
Please take some time to test this new chat feature through all of Toontown. We are still adding functionality, so please send any comments, bug reports, or word suggestions to us through the Contact Us form.
Thank you for your help!
Special note for Open Chat with True Friends players:
Players who have both SpeedChat Plus and Open Chat with True Friends enabled can communicate with other players according to those players’ chat preferences. For example:
If the player you are chatting with has SpeedChat Plus, they will only see words from the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary. Words not in the dictionary will be replaced with animal sounds.
If the player you are chatting with is your True Friend, your can chat openly through Open Chat with True Friends. When chatting openly with multiple True Friends at once, your chat may be viewable to other non-True Friend players who have SpeedChat Plus within your vicinity, provided the words are in the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary. Open Chat with True Friends whispers will only be viewable by the True Friend you are whispering to.*** NOTE *** currently Open Chat with True Friends’ Whispers does not work correctly, wherein all typed words are showing up as animal sounds. This will be fixed in the next release.

We are testing some new Toontown Trial account features and some Toontown Test accounts have been temporarily set to a special Trial account status -- If you've had Toons in both the top and bottom-middle slots, then you will have access to both (the middle column) during these tests. If you did not have a Toon in the bottom-middle slot then you will only have access to the top-middle one (1) Toon during these tests.
PLEASE NOTE: The five (5) remaining Toon slots of these accounts will be unaffected and temporarily unavailable during these tests. After a period of time accounts that have been set to the special Trial status will revert to normal and all your Toons will be accessible once more. During this test period all Toons will take turns having their account set to this new Trial status, so don't be surprised if it's your turn!

Access to Toontown Central.

ATTENTION TEST Toons: Some of your Toons may be temporarily inaccessible, but don't panic!
We are testing some new Toontown Trial account features and some Toontown Test accounts have been temporarily set to a special Trial account status -- which will only have access to the middle two (2) Toons during these tests.
PLEASE NOTE: The four (4) remaining Toon slots of these accounts will be unaffected and temporarily unavailable during these tests. After a period of time accounts that have been set to the special Trial status will revert to normal and all your Toons will be accessible once more. During this test period all Toons will take turns having their account set to this new Trial status, so don't be surprised if it's your turn!
If your account is in this special Trial two (2) Toon status, you will have:
- Access only to Toontown Central.
- Access only to Toontown Central Toontasks.
- Limited Goofy Speedway access.
- Access to your Estate.
- Limited Access to the Cattlelog (you can only purchase clothing items).
Test accounts that are in this Trial two (2) Toon status will only remain this way for a short period of time, so please jump right in and play thru all aspects of Toontown Central. Also, if your account has been made into a Test Trial account and you have an open middle slot, please create and play a new Toon.
Be sure to report any issues you encounter via our Report a Problem page! The Toon Council thanks you for your assistance!

March 16, 2007 [sv1.0.26.1.test]
Attention TEST Toons! Grab some friends and head to your nearest Trolley Station to check out four new TOONtastic Trolley Games! And between 12:00pm and 6:00pm, a new Trolley Holiday will take place where you and your friends can cast secret votes to determine which game the Trolley takes you to next, while possibly earning bonus Jellybeans to boot!
Details of the Travel Game during Trolley Holiday:
There are four (4) new Trolley Games, tentatively named: Diving Game, Pairing Game, Target Game, and Vine Game.
During the Trolley Holiday, the Travel Game is played along with a set number of Trolley Games, with the Travel Game first followed by a Trolley Game etc... for a total of six (6) rounds.
Use votes to help control the Trolley towards a particular Trolley Game destination. Unused votes will be converted into Jellybeans at the end of the game, but you will earn a lot more by trying to steer the Trolley towards your secret goal which will net you lots of Jellybeans! Don't get out-voted by others!
After each Trolley Game the Jellybeans you earn will be converted into more votes for use to help control the Trolley. At the end of the Travel Game, unused votes will be multiplied by a number for a total number of Jellybeans earned. The size of the multiplier and number of bonus Jellybeans at your secret goal is determined by the number of Toons playing in each session.
Other notes on the new Trolley Games:
In the multiplayer version of the Pairing Game, each Toon can only flip over one card at a time so you must work together to find matches.
In the Diving Game, use the "UP" arrow key to move your Toon towards the direction he or she is pointed. The "DOWN" arrow key does not make your Toon dive! Use the "LEFT" and "RIGHT" arrow keys to turn your Toon towards the bottom of the ocean and use the "UP" arrow to dive deeper.
In the Target Game, make sure to keep steering your Toon with the arrow keys after you've opened your umbrella for that perfect landing!
*** KNOWN ISSUES*** In the Vine Game, the vines have a graphics problem that makes them look very odd. Also when the time runs out it takes a while for the game to transition to the Jellybean award screen, please be patient as the game is not locked up/frozen. We will fix these issues with the Vine Game upon next release.
*** KNOWN ISSUE *** Currently when you enter your house on your Estate you will crash. Please refrain from going into your house and instead play lots of Trolley Games! We will fix this problem on the next release.
*** Mac Toons Please Note ***
The new update is currently not available for our Mac Toons. We sincerely apologize and appreciate your understanding and patience. We are working as fast as we can to make the Mac client for this update available upon next release.

Tickets are used in Goofy Speedway for all purchases, such as Karts, accessories, and race entry fees.
A new tab in the Shticker Book will appear after you purchase your first Kart, and that page will keep track of your Karts and Accessories, Trophies and records, and number of tickets you have left.
You can display your customized ride for all to see on one of many blue platforms surrounding the Kart shop. Just walk up to the left side of the platform.
There are two working tracks right now, Screwball Stadium and Rustic RaceWay. Each track has a forward and reverse configuration, and each configuration has a practice and race mode. The two left entrances at each track are practice mode, and the two right entrances are race mode.
Practice runs are a great way to learn the tracks, not to mention it's free and you earn a small amount of Tickets.
This is a work in progress and as such please excuse the occasional graphics glitch or missing texture. That said, please play in the speedway lots and tell us what you think, we'd love to hear from you especially if you find a bug!

Cashbot HQ preview!
Here's a preview of what every Cog bustin' Toon has been waiting for.
You can reach Cashbot HQ via the entrance at the end of Pajama Place.
Currently you can play in the Train Yard and the Mint.
At this busy freight yard, you should only be able to cross the tracks via the red pedestrian bridges. If hit by a train you will be damaged and flattened temporarily (a la the stompers). Watch out for roaming Cogs while on your way to the elevators.
The three elevators take you to various floors in a Mint. Each floor consists of a "random" combination of rooms. Some may be puzzle rooms with stompers, conveyors, and crates (like the factory), others may have barrels of gags, and some will have cog battles in them.
There are three mints (coin/dollar/bullion) and each one has 20 floors, for a total of 60 mint floors. When you go into a mint elevator, you attempt to conquer a single floor.
Each mint floor is made up of a sequence of rooms, and the rooms are pulled from a shared pool of 25 total unique rooms. That means that a particular room (i.e. the room with a big gear on the floor.) will show up on multiple floors, but you will never see the same room more than once on a single floor.
*** NOTE ***
There are a few rooms in some Mint floors that are rather empty at the moment. They will have more features added at a later date.
Please be sure to note the Mint Floor number when you report a bug associated with the Mint. Taking a screenshot will automatically show the floor number and roomID so that would be the best way to report any bugs.

You can feed your Doodles, pet them, and teach them to perform tricks. They'll even understand your calls and SpeedChat phrases! Be sure to look for new tricks to purchase from the Cattlelog so you can have more fun with your Doodle.
If you want a happy Doodle, be sure to give it lots of attention!
Some details about adopting Doodles
Doodles with more desirable traits and "looks" will be available in Pet Shops in different Playgrounds. The more desirable the Doodle, the higher the adoption price.

December 1, 2003 [sv1.0.9.2.test]
Welcome!
Welcome to the initial prototype testing of Cog Headquarters (Cog HQ). The first Cog HQ released will be the Sellbot HQ, attached to Daisy Gardens. We are excited to be in the final development stages of this new area of Toontown -- but we have a long way to go, and we are ready for your help! Cog HQ introduces new physics, environments, enemies, story elements, and game play and thus needs great deal of testing. We feel it is close enough to start letting people in to this rough version.
A few things to keep in mind, especially for those new to the test server:
Nothing of what you will see should be considered final.
Balancing will change. Every system may get easier, or harder, and may change several times.
Story elements may be tweaked and rearranged for clarity.
Very little is polished - The interface, sounds, physics, and dialog will all get better over time before final release.
Temporary sound effects - We will integrate final background music and sound effects soon.
Lots of cracks or holes in world - Take screenshots and report. We are still updating all the 3D models to the new physics system.
No CogHQ ToonTasks yet - These will be added over time as we finalize the overall difficulty.
Textures, models, and code are not optimized - Your graphics rendering (frame rate) may be choppier than in other areas of Toontown. The game will be smooth at times and completely unplayable at other times. Please bear with us.
We may not directly respond to each individual bug report, especially if we get numerous copies of the same issue. But rest assured, each and every report is read by developers.
A Brief CogHQ Overview
Toons have been taken hostage by the Cogs! They are being held on the top floor of CogHQ. It is your mission to gang up and rescue them. Getting into CogHQ will not be easy though; their tight security will detect and reject any Toons that enter. You must build a Cog disguise first by recovering Cog parts from their factory. The factory is a 4-player environment with many new game-play elements. You can keep track of your Cog disguise progress with a new page in your Shticker Book.
Once you have your entire Cog disguise built you can enter the Cog HQ lobby dressed as a Cog. The Sellbot Boss is a very busy Cog, so the guard will not allow you to see the Boss unless you have important Cog business, like needing a promotion. You must earn your promotion by fighting Sellbots to collect "merits" around Toontown. Merits are given out after every battle just like Gag experience and are recorded in your Shticker Book as well. The elevator to the top of Cog HQ holds 8 players so when you are ready for your promotion, group up with your friends and head up to battle the Boss.
If you defeat the Sellbot Boss Cog, you will free the hostage Toon who will in turn present you with his "trading card". You can use these cards in battle to call on them for extra assistance in a tough spot. Of course, knowing the Cogs, they will quickly build another Sellbot Boss Cog, so hurry and get your next promotion to rescue another Toon. There are 60 total promotions as you work your way up the corporate ladder.
Summary of What is New
New Physics with jumping ability - now you can hurdle bushes, jump onto crates, and hop over small fences!
New Toon interactions - conveyor belts, stompers, gears, locked doors, switches, pushable crates, platform action.
New Gag, Laff, and Jellybean Barrels - Cogs have stockpiled all the Toon items they have stolen. You can recover them in the factory.
New Cog Factory environment
New Cog Boss enemy
New Pie throwing mode in final phase of Boss Battle
New Cog HQ environment
New Rescued Toons (SOS) system (as tested in previous test releases)
New Rescued Toon Shticker Book page holds up to 8 Toon cards
New Rescued Toon battle interface
New Cog Disguise Shticker Book page
New Cog Merit system with 60 promotion levels
New "Skelecogs" - Sellbots that do not have their final Cog suit built
New "Goons" - Cog worker drones
New street - "Oak Street" off Daisy Gardens playground
New map artwork
New Shticker Book tabs make finding pages faster and easier
Known Issues
There is no reward presentation when you finish a factory, but you should still get the Cog disguise part.
Teleporting to other Toons inside CogHQ will sometimes crash your client.
You may fall through the floor on fishing docks on the streets of Donald's Dock.
You will be able to jump over the fences around fishing docks
If there are textures missing, polygons will show up pure red or white.
Some objects allow you jump through them.
You can jump above the ceiling inside Toon interiors.
Door inside your house may have a large gray square frame.
Jumping on crates is too difficult.
Some visual cracks exist on Oak Street
You can jump over Flippy in the tutorial.
If you enter the game before finishing the Tutorial download your client will crash. Allow the full download to finish before choosing or creating a Toon.
Timing of stompers crushing Goons inside Factory warehouse is off.
Camera control inside Factory warehouse is being worked on.
Boss battle currently crashes out. This will be fixed soon!
Note: A release date has not been finalized.

Fishing
New fishing system and interface integrated. Here are the basics:
You can now catch fish in the ponds located in every playground and street in Toontown. As you fish at a pond, your new fishing bucket will fill up with the fish you catch. When your bucket is full, or if you run out of Jellybeans, you need to sell the fish to the Pet Shop Clerks located near the ponds in the Playgrounds. Fish that are heavier and more rare are worth more Jellybeans. There are 50 total fish species. Some fish have particular ponds where they live, others can be found in every pond. Your fishing rod can be upgraded by purchasing stronger rods sold in Clarabelle's Cattlelog (coming soon). Better rods are stronger and can catch heavier fish, but cost more Jellybeans to fish with. In this initial test release, everybody will have the beginner "twig" fishing rod.
Each 10 fish species you collect will earn you a fishing trophy and +1 Laff Boost, bringing the maximum Laff points up to 105. You can keep track of the fish you have seen and the trophies you have with a new page in your Shticker Book (temporary artwork).
Fishing ToonTasks should still work as they always have.
We will be releasing final fish models and final Shticker Book interface over the next few days. Until the final models are finished, the Pool Shark and Moon Fish are using the Clown Fish model.
Please enjoy helping us test this new system and send us comments, questions, and bugs.
SOS Toons
We are testing an early version of SOS Toons. Now, not only can you call your friends into battle, you can also call shop keepers like Flippy and Li'l Old Man in for help. Since this feature touches many parts of the battle system, it needs thorough testing and accurate bug reporting. We will eventually be integrating this feature into a future release. For testing purposes everybody will be given free access to these helpers. Just press the SOS button on the battle menu and play through as many scenarios as you can think of with your friends.

An early version of Toon housing is live. This is a first pass release to start testing the infrastructure of the housing system. We will be releasing more housing features to the test when they are ready over the next few weeks. This first release includes closets and banking. To get to your house, use the new "Go Home" button on the Map Page in the Shticker Book.
Closets: Now you can store your extra clothes in your very own closet in your house. When you purchase new clothes with a clothing ticket, your old clothes will automatically be sent back to your closet.
Banking: Now you can store extra jellybeans in your bank at your house. Extra jellybeans earned in Trolley Games and from ToonTasks will spill-over into your bank. You can deposit and withdraw from your bank at your house.
Updated battle menu scene layout. Now it should be easier to see chat during battles with less clutter.
Ring Game and Maze Game now have difficulty levels per neighborhood. Now playing these games in Toontown Central will be easier, but more advanced neighborhoods like Dreamland have gotten even harder. We plan to add difficulty levels to more Trolley Games in the future, and scale the jellybean reward based on difficulty.

To help us identify and fix problems in Toontown, we have implemented a configuration database that will help us track which types of computers have been tested on each test server release. This system will ask for your permission to upload a small set of configuration data to our servers the first time you run on the test server. The information we collect will help make upcoming versions of Toontown run more smoothly on your machine. It will not be provided to any third party and will not be used for any other purpose.
