You are in the enclosed area of the boat with the steering wheel. There is also storage and extra oxygen.

You see an oxygen tank.

You take the oxygen tank.

You attach the tank to your back and connect it to the rest of your scuba gear.

>GIVE SHELL

You hold out the shell to the mermaid. She smiles widely and gazes lovingly at it. She darts down and swims behind a stone then comes back up to you holding something out. She gives you a small round shell with a hermit crab inside. Then she swims away.

The path to the east is blocked.

>DROP CRAB

You set the tiny crab down and it immediately crawls away through the hole.

After a moment the wood pile starts to break apart. As the wood pieces float away, a large mermaid comes in to view. The tiny crab is sitting on the top of her head. She flaps her tail to clear the last of the pile before swimming away.

This part of the trench is very dark.

You see an evil-looking mermaid.

The mermaid sways back and forth, she has placed seaweed in her hair and shakes her head to show it off.

You twirl your head, mirroring the mermaid's movements and showing off your pretty hair bubbles.

The evil mermaid watches you then swings its head around with you.

It seems the mermaid isn't so evil after all!

You dance together in harmony.
