So you want to take on a Lightning Talk during Codefront.io?

###So you want to take on a Lightning Talk during Codefront.io?

For our one day, 4 track conference, the Codefront.io team is looking for brave people to take on a lightning talk. Over at track 4, the last slot (from 16:00 to 17:30 if we stick to the schedule) is reserved for lightning talks. That means: 12(!) 5-minute sessions. We would love to schedule your chat in advance, so you have some time (at least until May 10, 4 o'clock) to prepare your slides. Ten slots will be set (in stone) but we will leave 2 slots open until May 10 for spontanious, super urgent contributions.

Just a few rules (more like pointers): we are not looking for sales pitches or recruiting outreach. If you'd like to promote your service, or get in contact with potential hires, do consider sponsoring Codefront.io and earn a space in our super amazing business track - the morning sessions at track 4. A lightning talk is about you sharing your passion (and doing so in no more than 5 minutes).

Codefront.io Track 4 - Business Track

###Codefront.io Track 4 - Business Track

The XXX room will host our 4th track. Alongside the 3 tracks on all things front-end development and web design, Codefront.io attendees can visit the XXX room to find out about new products and services and get in contact with exciting companies. Startups and businesses will find themselves in an informal setting where they are encouraged to demo their applications and reach out to potential hires. This track will be managed by Teresa Hammerl and we will have a projector at our disposal. We will create several corners with tables and chairs for more private one-on-one's. The room offers enough place for banners and stands, might the participating sponsors require these.

Usersnap is playing Santa at Codefront.io

Florian Dorfbauer is playing Santa at Codefront.io and giving away 26 Usersnap basic packages for free (for 6 months) - worth a gazillion dollars. Approximately. Plus: Usersnap will raffle out 1 Pro-Account, valued at a whopping 1188 USD for the best Lightning Talk in the designated track. The audience can vote for their favorite by adding a sticker next to the headline of the talk, that we will write on a flip-over. Naturally, everyone can only vote once.

Sponsor alert: Usersnap allows you to get annotated screenshots of the current browser content, directly delivered to your bug tracker or project management tool. Usersnap helps you to communicate effectively about issues and share feedback between developers, customers and QA engineers.

Did you know that Usersnap's headquarters are located in Perg, an idyllic town close to Linz with 2(!) pizza places and a unicorn as its heraldic animal?

Code School to support Codefront.io

###Code School to support Codefront.io

Code School is an online learning platform that teaches a variety of programming and web design skills. Courses range from beginner to advanced levels and you get to earn rewards and badges as you learn. It's great stuff, trust us. And: Code School decided to sponsor Codefront.io by giving away 4 three-month subscriptions during the conference, PLUS 2 days of Code-School-fo-free(!) to all conference attendees new to Code School, via their Hall Pass program. Get ready for a weekend of learning in May!

A lot has happened! What? Let me summarize that for you...

Hi there! We have made some changes to the website and we thought we would let you know!

First off: we added a Code of Conduct for the project - which was admittedly much overdue. A primary goal of Rails Girls Summer of Code is to be inclusive to the all of our part-takers - participants, coaches, mentors, supervisors and everyone in the organizing team, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof). Our Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community and introduces our super-amazing Trust Committee composed of both core organizers and externals.
