Harmonbot Privacy Policy

Effective: September 1, 2022
Last Updated: September 1, 2022

This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and stored when interacting with Harmonbot and as a member of a Discord server of which Harmonbot is also a member.

The Collected Information

Information you provide

  • Message Content Whenever you send a Discord message that's visible to Harmonbot, whether in a public text channel in a server Harmonbot is a member of, through direct messages with Harmonbot, etc., the content of your message is stored in a cache as part of the program that's running that current instance of Harmonbot. That data will persist until Harmonbot is restarted or shutdown or until Harmonbot sees 1000 newer messages, whichever occurs first.

  • Interactions with Harmonbot If you interact with Harmonbot, through commands, mentioning it, etc., Harmonbot will record metadata about that interaction. This includes, but is not limited to, the number of commands you've executed and which commands you've executed.

Information collected automatically

  • User Information Your Discord user ID along with your username and discriminator are used to associate messages and metadata with your Discord account.

  • Server Information To provide stats on itself, Harmonbot will also record metadata about the servers in which it is a member. This includes the server ID and name, as well as channel IDs and names. This data is also associated with messages stored in Harmonbot's cache.

How your information is used

  • Functionality Your information is used to provide Harmonbot's functionality. For example, for many of Harmonbot's commands, its response includes the username of the user to whom it is responding and the content of the message to which it is responding.

  • Error Reporting If there is an unhandled error with Harmonbot, your data might be sent to Sentry and reviewed manually to help debug and fix the error. Sentry has their own privacy policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be updated from time to time. The date the last changes were published will always be indicated, and if changes are significant, a more prominent notice will be provided, such as an announcement in Harmonbot's Discord server.
