About the Role

At Billforward, our billing and WiFi commerce platform powers some of the largest Software and ISP companies in the UK and San Francisco. We are looking for a talented Developer in order to create features that define Billing and Commerce for the next decade. The ideal candidate has deep insights into how to design, build and ship software that impacts the bottom line. This is a great opportunity to be part of a small team building and running a high growth company. You will build features to improve the Billforward platform. You will nurture a passion for changing the way customers and developers work with billing.

We are still a small team, well-funded, growing quickly and focused on building a world-class company.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced full stack developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience building large-scale Java, PHP and/or JavaScript applications and a deep understanding of the APIs that power them. Your ability to visualize the flow of data through a complex application is critical to your success, and to the team’s.

Caring deeply about the customer experience is a must. Our UI is powered from our public APIs, so attention to detail and semantics are important at every level. We have a small and agile front-end team right now, so we’re looking for highly motivated individuals who can help drive the next generation of our web application and commerce platform.

We work iteratively and deploy often (can be several times a day). We use AngularJS and Bootstrap as our front-end application framework. Other technologies on our web application stack include Sass, PHP (Commerce), and MySQL for the data store.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs
  • Track record of building great applications with the user experience in mind
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Unit/integration testing experience
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • PHP knowledge

Bonus

  • Experience with AngularJS
  • Experience with Java
  • Interest in visualizing complex and time-series data
