Glitches

Switch Cancelling

Founder: ?

This allows you to gain infinite height, allowing access to out of bounds, access areas earlier than intended and escape scripted fights / boss fights. Can also be used to fly over cutscene triggers skipping some bosses

To do this: Jump and attack mid air 3x, as the 3rd attack starts up swap and attack right after.

Some naunces to take note:

  • Sahad you can input the swap + attack in any part of the 3rd attack animation.
  • You are able to Swap left + Swap right + Attack to solo hover with one character
  • While hold "Dash" and jump attacking it will speed up the animations of attack (increasing the frequency of the inputs)
  • Gale Feather will increase the speed further (Plus Feather boots)
  • Can only be done in places you can attack

Switch Cancelling Variant

Founder: Zwelair (First known user of this)

By binding Attack & Swap L or R to the same button. You are able to swap back n forth to the same character while constantly doing an aerial attack which with some characters will gain height, fastest being Sahad followed by Adol

How to: Bind Swap L to the same button as Attack in the bindings menu. (can be either Swap L or Swap R, as long as the other Swap button is bound seperately)

First of all, jump mid-air Press [Swap R] then instantly your double bind [Attack + Swap L] Then repeat in a specific rythm. This rythm changes depending on the character

You have to find the middle ground of the frequency of inputs and keep that same frequency until desired height, to fast or to slow will fail

Attack Roll Cancelling

Founder: ? (Fellvisage?) Abbreviation: ARC

This allows you to roll at max speed, currently the fastest way to move with Adol Party. By cancelling an attack with a roll, you add the speed from the attack animation to the roll

To do this: Attack then roll instantly (few frame window), Then repeat again as soon as you hit the ground after the roll. Frequency of inputs depends on the gradient of the ground. Uphill = faster inputs, downhill = slower inputs

  • If you just get a grounded attack you inputted roll to late
  • If you get a down attack you inputted to soon mid-air
  • Fastest on 200FPS, just barely faster than jump rolling on 60FPS, Extremely slow on 30FPS

Sahad Roll Hover

Founder: Mabo (First known user)

Sahad gains a tiny bit of height during his roll, By swapping back n forth to Sahad and repeatedly rolling (Rolling only with sahad) you can gain infinite height.

Inputs: Swap L or R > Swap L or R (opposite one than you used first) > Roll

Then repeat rapdily (You need to repeat the input at the peak of sahad's roll)

Boss Mode

Founder: ?

By leaving a scripted fight or boss fight without killing the enemies or boss you enter a "Boss State" the next time you enter a map that has a scripted fight or boss it will force you into that fight. Boss mode clears upon finishing a scripted fight or boss. Things to note:

  • Some maps have 2 bosses, it will only force the 1st fight (Avolodragil I & Giesburn)

Forced Cutscene

Founder: Jaddo

By leaving a room during a script start-up, By killing a boss or scripted fight and leaving the room. You can force cutscenes from the map you entered based on where you walked in the map before the fade to white finishes

Utilising Switch Cancelling to get over the invisible walls in a scripted fight or boss fight. you have access to the loading zones.

The map that you enter while in the script start-up will have most "walk-into" cutscene triggers active. Every trigger you walk through (including hitting the same trigger repeatedly) will que up the cutscene tied to the trigger and play it after the script start-up has finished (white fade out)

Most notable uses of this, is being able to force cutscenes in the camp with the forced fight just outside. You can re-trigger this fight with Boss Mode You can then trigger the cutscene on the left hill which takes you to Fated Day Dana segment, which gets you to the second half of island.

To note:

  • Skipping a cutscene will end the que immediately
  • Boss Mode is gained by doing this, if the cutscene thats intended to play after the scripted fight / boss plays, it will remove boss mode.
  • This can be used to get infinite reputation by triggering specific cutscenes that give reputation and repeatedly queuing it.
  • You cannot force cutscenes that are tied to triggering upon entering the map
  • Due to the limited time frame you have from finishing the fight to the script start-up fade out its somewhat limited in most places outside the camp

Forced Cutscene Raid End

Founder: ?

By loading a save between the "Raid complete" text and the fade out completing. It will play the raid results screen in the new save. If the save is located where a cutscene trigger would be, it will force that cutscene to play.

This also works with Hunts / Suppressions.

Currently used in Any% to force a cutscene in an epilogue area accessing the credits.

Swamp Hover

Founder: ?

By making the other party members stand in the swamp and then while jumping over the swamp and mashing Swap and Jump, you will repeatedly jump mid-air which can be done infinitely.

Most noteably used on Magamandra (Tree Boss) we can use the swamp to leave the boss room and trigger Boss Mode quickly.

Dana Hovering

Founder: ?

While in the Dana Past sections, when you have 2 forms. You can bind [Attack+Swap] to the same button. Mashing this button will cause you to gain height infinitely. Things to note:

  • Holding Dash will make you fall
  • Holding Dash, while repeating [Attack+Swap] > [Roll] you can maintain height while dashing. (Can gain height slowly if done fast)
  • While Dana Party Glitch is active height gain slows down, requires a rythm of mashing to gain height quicker
  • Only works in places you are able to attack

Dana to Future

Founder: ?

By getting to unintended sections of Dana Past segments. You can access a left over loading zone which takes you to a map which is in the future. This forces Past Dana into the Future. Giving access to Dana Hover everywhere.

Dana Party Glitch

Founder: ?

By performing Dana to Future and using a Crystal that would take you back in time, upon returning. Your party will be replaced with the Dana forms that you have access to. A side effect of doing this will equip weapons to Armour, Hand and both accessory slots to the party.

Things to note:

  • The character that interacts with the crystal to begin with will not have the weapons equipped.
  • Attempting to opening the map in this state will glitch the screen for half a second. This will break the map from being able to be opened again. This will lead to a softlock which makes the game unbeatable (Due to needing to warp to a epilogue area)
  • This state is mostly a one-way trip unless you beat the game and load the clear file

Dana Party Glitch - No Weapons / Future Map Enabled

Founder: Jaddo

After activating Boss Mode and performing Dana to Future then navigating to a map with a Kong boss fight (Hummel or Adols version are closest) Win or lose the fight. Pause and return Era

Upon returning you will have Dana Party Glitch, This is different from the one above. This variant allows you to warp with the future map.

  • You need to be able to return from the Dana segment, either by completing the segment and re-enter the segment so you have access to return to era.

Damage Glitch

By using certain attacks or skills, you can overflow damage calculation to apply damage to every frame that an attack hitbox is out. Usually insta-killing any boss.

(Note: We don't fully understand why this happens)

Most notable skills which cause this. Adol: Tornado Blade Laxia: Knife Toss Luminous: Normal attacking

Once damage glitch has been achieved you can use a different attack that does high damage in a single hit to apply that new damage to the damage glitch.

Bosses and Enemies have body parts which have different hitboxes. If you get damage glitch on the leg it will not work on a different body part, unless you setup damage glitch on the new body part.

Damage glitch is also tied to FPS, we believe this is due to animations of how fast you can attack / spam skills. 200 FPS is the easiest, it does still work on 60FPS but is harder to trigger. (Not confirmed for 30FPS)

Switch spam jumping

By spamming [Swap & Jump] while running up some cliffs you can jump of bits of hill geometry to climb up it.

Most noteable uses: Vine Skip / Early Hummel

Optional Raid Warning Cancel

By using certain cutscenes you can force an optional raid to end the warning. While the warning is up you cannot access quest dialogue or activate approval events.

To do: Get Boss Mode and retrigger Gargantuala fight in Eroded Valley, upon killing the boss it will set optional raid to end.

Does not work on mandatory raids.

Ricotta Gliding

By repeating [Roll & Attack] midair you can conserve alot of height mid-air over long distances. Can be used to get over some cutscene triggers if you have a high enough starting point Notes: Cannot be used to go out of bounds

Info regarding out of bounds and void outs

The game remembers the height of last grounded location. This height is also taken into consideration when going out of bounds. If you go below your last grounded location, you will void out. if there is ground below you, you will not void

This is also why you sometimes void out going down hill next to walls, since the game can get confused and think your out of bounds, either by geometry seems or model clipping.

Void State

Founder: Jaddo (Trick translates from other games)

By rolling and pausing into a loading triggeron the same frame, then loading a file. You transfer over a state that stops you interacting with loading triggers. Loading a file does not clear the state however warping or returning to title screen will clear the state

This has some unique effects: In some instances, saving and loading near a void pit and voiding instantly upon loading. You will be teleported to your entry location.

Void State can mess with your entry location based on which loading trigger you got the glitch from.

If you get the glitch on the first loading trigger of the room (based of numerical ID) all subsequent rooms you enter will default to the first loading trigger for every room you load into. Same if you get the glitch of the 5th loading trigger in sequence of a room, all subsequent rooms you load into will have the entry value set to the 5th loading trigger (assuming there is a 5th trigger in the room, if this is the case no arrow will show)

This is usefull for finding left over loading triggers out of bounds

Minor notes Having Void State on First loading trigger ID, and loading into the room before Theos. It will activate the small entry cutscene

The entry arrows can correspond to PSP VITA triggers that no longer exsist(?)

0,0,-100000

This is a location that stores alot of unused assets, such as interactables that are not used on the map including ones that would be in a later story state. It is possible to interact with these if we have a way to get to this location. If there are multiple interactables on a map, only one will be able to interacted with.

Since these coordinates is far outside the normal bounds of play, nothing renders here and physics aren't calculated so you wont fall, but you are unable to move.

Important notes:

Since 0,0,-100000 is at height 0, if the map you are in has no way of setting your last landed location to 0 or below then loading a file thats at 0,0,-100000 will instantly hit a death plane and respawn you back to the main part of the map.

Temple Approach, 0,0,-100000 interactable activates the dana segement in a completed state, allowing return era which leads to mist bridge segement. Currently no way of being able to interact as the bridges height is around 100, so you instantly get respawned upon loading the file.

Void State Teleport

Void State teleport to 0/0/-100,000

Get void state by rolling and pausing into a loading trigger at the same time, then loading a file. (Make sure you have a save file on the map you want to take void state to).

Stand on the loading trigger, pause and swap controlled character into 4th slot unpause, pause and swap 4th slot to 3rd. (This part can be a bit random) unpause after swaps. If you see one of the AI controlled characters disappear entirely, pause and swap that character into the first slot, save and then load.

Void State Teleport to 0/0/0

Get void state by rolling and pausing into a loading trigger at the same time, then loading a file. (Make sure you have a save file on the map you want to take void state to).

Stand on the loading trigger, try to get into the middle of the loading trigger as much as possible, save and load the same file. This forces the AI characters onto the load trigger. By swapping to another character and move around slightly in the load trigger an AI character will disappear suddenly, you need to pause as soon as you see them disappear, swap that character to the first slot, save then load.

Tricks

Vine Skip and Alison Skip

By using Switch Spam Jumping you can access the area leading to Coral Forest after Avolodragil early. Behind Avolodragil's boss room, you can switch jump up the left side of the wall to skip the vine.

Switch Cancelling can also be used, but slower.

This also skips having to find Alison, just make sure you go back to camp to get the fishing / camp tutorial out the way, it may softlock later on.

Early Hummel

By Switch Spam Jumping up a small ledge just outside Coral Forest, you can access all the way to Hummel, including Eroded Valley & Schlamm Jungle.

Late Hummel

By Switch Cancelling over Hummels trigger, you can finish of Eroded valley & Schlamm Jungle up until the point when hummel leaves and then trigger Hummels cutscene to gain access to hummel for the Raids / Gendarme.

Baja Tower Stairs Skip

By using the fact that tower is slanted, you can use Sahad to jump attack x3 then double jump and attack x3 to get enough height to climb the stairs. This is used in glitchless.

Archaeozoic Chasm Skip

By Switch Cancelling in the lower stair way, you can clip into the ceiling and hit a loading trigger behind a locked door

Dana Segment Skip

Upon descending Gendarme, before you reach the first camp at Temple Overlook. You can Switch Cancelling over the trigger.

Infinite Reputation

By using Forced Cutscene you can trigger specific cutscenes multiple times and each time you watch it you will keep gaining reputation. Currently the best location is using the Roland & Kiergard cutscene, using Turtle boss (with Dana to future for speed) gaining 4 rep each time you watch the cutscene.

Warp to Fated Day and Luminous

By using Forced Cutscene you can trigger a cutscene in the camp using the Laxia fight just outside the settlement, then triggering the cutscene up on the left hill, waiting until the 2nd Dana cutscene, where Sahad drunkenly walks up to Dana and Adol, skipping this cutscene. This gives access to Luminous and Eterna

Warp to Sunlit Forest

By using Forced Cutscene you can trigger a cutscene in the camp using the Laxia fight just outside the settlement. Upon entering the camp stand still, one the fade out happens a map will pop up. with two warps, select Temple Approach. This warps you to Sunlit Forest, an area only accessible in the epilogue. We use this in Any% so we can set up a save point

Raid End to Credits

By using Forced Cutscene Raid End and having a save point set to a specific spot in Sunlit Forest using Warp to Sunlit Forest and standing on the spot shown in the image below. There is a few different spots to stand but this one works well (small lighter patch of grass)

sunlit cutscene location

Once in the spot shown save here, you can then start a raid (Beast Raid, from Coral forest) Complete the raid during the fade out pause and load the file. You may get the raid results screen, just mash through it then skip through the cutscenes.

Raid End to Early Kiergard

By using raid end forced cutscene you are able to force a cutscene right before when you face off with Kiergard.

How to: Set up a save in the location shown below (next to the small rocks texture on the floor) then trigger Forced Cutscene Raid End This will start the sequence to access Kiergard fight

image

Mandatory Raid Skips

- Beasts Raid - Activating Rainbow falls Landmark

By utilising Switch Cancelling you can fly around the trigger blocking you from progressing

- Monstrous Beast Raid - After clearing Schlamm Jungle

By forcing the cutscene before fighting Kiergard (Barbaros getting hurt) you can skip this cutscene to set the flag for Kiergard to spawn. Forced Cutscene Raid End would have to be used for this, or do it later with Dana party with luminous move speed.

- Primordial Ferocity! - After obtaining Orichalcum ore, after the Hunt

Before triggering Avolodragil 2 you need to Switch Cancelling over the Avolodragil 2 boss trigger, run up Gendarme and grab the warp. Go back and do Avolodragil 2, Get the Ore, Do the hunt, warp to Gendarme top. Note: This will store a cutscene of Avolodragil dying that will play after completing a raid later on. Do not skip this, or you will softlock

- Primordial Stampede - After getting Dana

Avoid getting Dana and go straight to Baja tower by Switch Cancelling

- Evolution Marches on - After Valley of Kings

Skipped in Any% / True Ending

Currently no way of skipping in All Story Bosses - Mainly due to a trigger after the raid that needs to start the second gendarme descent to the mist area.
