Squad Quick Start

Game

  • Capture bases, destroy vehicles, take down squads to bleed your opponent's tickets
  • Place HABs and rally points to gain ground - Spawns are disabled (inactive) when 2 or more enemies are within a 30-meters radius of the Spawn Bunker.
  • Games last 45mins but can usually go into overtime if it's a close draw.
  • Threat Order - Takeout Tanks, Technicals, Solders, HABs and FOBs, then flags
  • IED explosions are dummy T H I C C. by the clap of the ass cheeks, alerted the medics
  • Invest in Offense over Defense - Super FOBs are easy to take down. Easy to construct and destruct deployables with shovel
  • Avoid out of bounds travel - insta kill in choppers

Terms

Kits

  • SL - Squad Leader - Plan and Place spawns to gain ground, Order squad and fireteams to locations, Mark enemy's on the map, Allow squads to use vehicles PageUp, Relay plans to other Squad Leaders G, Assign Fireteam Leaders, maybe shoot some bullets if you're feeling cute.
  • Riflemen - Clear the area, Supply ammo on the ground
  • Anti-Tank - Shoot for engine or ammo container to takeout enemy vehicles quickly
  • Sapper / IED Scout - Make dummy T H I C C IED trucks to blow up entire HABs or tanks, report contact with binoculars
  • Medic - Clear the area, Heal the wounded, mend team to full health with med pack
  • Crewman - Man the tanks, armor vehicles, includes sub machine gun
  • Marksman -

Squad Habits

  • MUST resupply after respawn
  • MUST load ammo and construction into logistical Trucks and armor vehicles after respawn from the main base. Goto one of the three ammo resupply stations at the main base
  • MUST press E to turn on Vehicle

Squad Leader Habits

  • SL FOB Setup Order - Get Logi truck within 30 meters then place FOB Radio, HAB, Ammo, Sandbags, Ladder, and Mortar. Create a Fireteam to resupply logi truck from the main base.
  • SL and FTL press T to report enemy location
  • Promote active spotters and good sappers/scout to FTL to allow them to place FTL markers on the map for SL then to relay to the team map

Game Mechanics

Non-sim mil tactics

  • Better to leave an enemy broken vehicle than to have it blow up and respawn at their base
  • Deaths are teleportations

Squad Configurations

Tank Squad - Light and Heavy Armor

  • MUST be crewmen to operator heavy armor
  • When a vehicle parks near a Repair Station it will begin to repair its health at the cost of construction points and resupply its ammo at the expense of ammo points. - https://squad.gamepedia.com/Repair_Station
  • Vehicles can be repair halfway by Crewmen, Full repairs need a repair station either at a HAB or main base.
  • To resupply light and heavy armor find a repair station or take the long trek to the main base to reload on ammo.

Trivia

Issues

  • Bug: Menu mouse is crap. Allow arrow keys to navigate menu items like the server browsers

  • Bug: Sticky map on double click. Move cursor to the edge unstick.

  • Option: right click to zoom for all vehicles and personnel

  • UI: Move Compass bearings to the top of the screen

  • UI: Have build status on the shovel rather than the center point of the item - hard to see when building.

  • Feature: Expand map control to FTL and squad members

  • Notice: Only admins can spectate
