Fetches the latest Linux Widevine binary so that it can be used by Vivaldi.

With the release of Vivaldi 2.2, this page is now obsolete and unmaintained. Widevine is fetched automatically on post install of our official packages. The information below and the script are left for historical reasons but will not be updated.

If you are using something newer than Vivaldi 2.2, you should not be using this script as there is simply no need. Any need you think you have for it would be a bug IMHO and thus should be logged in a bug report. Before you do so however, you should also checkout the Vivaldi help page on Widevine, on Linux

Summary

A bunch of people asked how they could use this script with pure Chromium on Ubuntu. The following is a quick guide. Though I still suggest you at least try Vivaldi. Who knows, you might like it. Worried about proprietary componants? Remember that libwidevinecdm.so is a b

Setting up pass on git with a gpg key

The following shell transcript shows how to:

  • Create a GPG key
  • Create a pass database
  • Add git support to the pass database
  • Create a remote git repository
  • Push the pass database to the remote git repository
  • Fetch and display your passwords from another host

It is assumed that the pass package has been installed on both the first and second computers.

Searching for Files

Find images in a directory that don't have a DateTimeOriginal

exiftool -filename -filemodifydate -createdate -r -if '(not $datetimeoriginal) and $filetype eq "JPEG"' .

###Output photos that don't have datetimeoriginal to a CSV### Note this can take a long time if you have a lot of jpgs

Unicode table - List of most common Unicode characters *
* This summary list contains about 2000 characters for most common ocidental/latin languages and most printable symbols but not chinese, japanese, arab, archaic and some unprintable.
Contains character codes in HEX (hexadecimal), decimal number, name/description and corresponding printable symbol.
What is Unicode?
Unicode is a standard created to define letters of all languages and characters such as punctuation and technical symbols. Today, UNICODE (UTF-8) is the most used character set encoding (used by almost 70% of websites, in 2013). The second most used character set is ISO-8859-1 (about 20% of websites), but this old encoding format is being replaced by Unicode.

Markercluster pie charts

The map shows traffic accidents recorded in Oslo, Norway, for the year 2013.

The Leaflet Markercluster plugin is wonderful. Since the markerclusters are divIcons you can put whatever you want inside them using the iconCreateFunction. I wanted my clusters to reveal more information than just the marker count and figured a pie chart would do the job. So I told the iconCreateFunction to do some D3 magic and this is the result.

The example is a bit more complicated than necessary due to how my dataset is structured. But if you take a look at the defineClusterIcon() function you'll see that I use d3.nest() to build a dataset for the pie chart based on a given property from all the cluster's children. Then I pass this dataset over to the bakeThePie() function together with instructions on how to style the chart. The function returns svg markup which in turn is placed inside the divIcon.

Feel free to suggest improvements.
