COVID Management Protocols

as suggested in Dr KK Aggarwal's online OPD (screenshot)

DO NOT self diagnose. ALWAYS consult a doctor. This document is just for the purpose of cross-referencing. Please do follow the advise of your own Doctor.

Code 1: CONTACT

Indicators: You are in contact with someone with COVID like symptoms.

  • Ivermectin 12mg daily x 3 days
  • Doxycycline 100mg daily x 3 days
  • If CRP > 1: Colchicine 0.5mg one daily x 21 days
  • Betadine/Neem gargles
  • Vitamins and Minerals
  • Adequete Fluids and Sleep
  • (No treatment for children below 12 years)
  • (precautions first 5 days and shift to code 2)

Code 2: MILD COVID

Indicators: Loss/altered smell, taste. Fever less than 101F, no falling spo2, no breathlessness, no pnemonia

In addition to Code 1 protocol:

  • Colchicine 500mg 3 times daily x 10 days
  • Meftal 500mg 3 times daily x 10 Days
  • Famotidine 40mg x 10 days
  • If cough present: Serflo or Budesonide Inhaler x 90 days
  • If cough starts on day 3 or is persistent: HRCT Scan

Code 3: SEVERE ILLNESS or HIGH RISK (co-morbidities)

Indicaters: Day 1-5 fever higher than 101F Or CRP > 10 OR rising, OR Pneumonia, OR Faling Oxygen on exercise OR Breathlessness

In addition to code 1 and code 2:

  • Oxygen at home.
  • Steroid Prednisolone 1mg per kg daily or equivalent ( Methyl Prednisolone) dose or Dexamethasone (if not contraindicated) 12mg x 10 days
  • Warf 5mg Daily (or Dabigatran 150mg Or Rivaroxaban 15mg or Apixaban 5mg) 2 times daily x 21 days
  • If Pneumonia: Pulmoheal 1 daily x 21 days
  • If Persistent Breathlessness, or rising CRP inspite of treatment: consider admission and repeat HRCT scan for advanced treatment.
  • If initial CT Score is greater than 8/25 and there is breathlessness or spO2 less than 90: Get Admitted. Remdesivir in first 10 days, plasma in 0-7 days and Tocilizubam in case of steroid failure may be considered.

SOS

  • Vomiting: DOM DT
  • Loose Motions: ORS
  • Constipation: Loose 30ml
  • Hiccups: Mucaine Gel
  • Cough: Zedex
  • Wet Cough: Pro Zedex
  • Low Heart Rate: Ignore
  • High Heart Rate: Ivabred 5mg
  • High BP: Amlodipine 5mg
  • Streaks of Blood in Sputum: Ignore
  • Sugar Increased after food: Replaglinide 2mg below the tongue before meals
