Ressources as a minimal-list

If I had to keep only few resources that were really helpful for my own knowledge/self-development, here is what I would keep. Also, for questions and suggestions, please tweet me: @NathanaelKhodl.

Read and learn

Books and websites that tell you a lot, without (so much) bullshit, and give specific tools.

Read and get inspired

Inspiring stories:

  • πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Successfull independent founders are interviewed on Indie Hackers, but pay attention to the survivorship bias.
  • πŸš€ The blog post "1 Year as a Digital Nomad" is someone's story, that reflect well and without bullshit how accessible is digital nomadism.

News:

  • πŸ₯ On Twitter, carefully select who to follow. Don't hesitate to unfollow if information is not relevant (or isn't a close friend)
  • 😼 Check Product Hunt everyday, to know what are the hot stuff.
  • πŸ—£ Check Hacker News, if you have time to kill and want to have global news around IT.
  • πŸ€– This TechCrunch Bot will give you daily headlines about tech. You don't need more.

Travel & remote jobs

Helps you to discover the world:

  • 🌏 Use Nomad List to compare destinations, cost of living, and meet people that travel the world without being backpackers.
  • πŸ’Ό Look for a remote job on RemoteOK.
  • πŸ’ΊΒ Kiwi is great for cheap flights, especially if you don't care about duration or which dates.

Helpful tools

  • πŸ’Ύ For your code backups, commit often on Bitbucket.
  • πŸ’΅ Track your expenses with Expensify.
  • ✍️ Keep all your notes and to-do on Trello.
  • βš™οΈ Put your processes on autopilot thanks to Zapier and IFTTT. Tip: forward all your paypal/Uber/etc receipts, and emails including your last credit card digits to Expensify.
