Step-by-step guide: How to vote at the Notary Node Elections 2018

This guide is for people who wants to vote for a public address(es).
If you want to vote for a private z-address here's the guide you're looking for.

First step: Download the latest version of Agama Wallet:

Second step: Get your Komodo private key(s) for voting

This step is for people who uses Agama in Native Mode or haven't been able to vote using the seed of Lite (SPV) Mode.

On the 18 of March at approximately 7 p.m. UTC a snapshot was made of all KMD weight on all addresses. If you had Komodo in a wallet that you control, i.e. you have access to the private keys, you received VOTE token on 1:1 basis. If you had 1 KMD, you received 1 VOTE token to the same address.

Agama gives you the option to run either Native Mode (a full node) or use Lite (SPV) Mode. SPV uses Komodo Electrum servers to provide a lite client and does not require you to download the full Komodo blockchain.


Launching Agama in Lite (SPV) Mode

Choose Lite (SPV) Mode and select KMD.

Enter your Wallet Seed/Passphrase and click Sign in

Go to Settings

Click Export Keys

Enter your Wallet Seed/Passphrase and click Get WIF Keys

Copy WIF (Wallet Import Format) key

which is the private key of the KMD address

Launching Agama in Native Mode

Choose Native Mode and select KMD.

Might take a while (hours even) if this is your first time launching Native Mode.

When it says 100% your Agama wallet is synced and ready.

Third step: Finding a candidate to vote for

You can find the proposals of every notary node candidate at Github:

There are 44 candidates to choose from at the moment. Every proposal includes voting addresses. One public address for each node and one z-address for private voting. It depends on a candidate how many servers they are running for.

When you find the best candidate to vote for. You can find voting addresses at the proposal of the candidate. Or like in this case at the end of the proposal. If you would like to vote for Southern Hemisphere (SH) Notary Node the address to vote would be

If you would like to vote for European (EU) Notary Node the address to vote would be

RG52fygAqKrhepNCeVn1CwYZeS785XshMV

You can vote for 1 server with all your VOTE tokens or you can vote for 2 servers or more. The choice is yours.

Fourth step: Using your private key(s) to vote

This step is for people who wants to vote a public address(es).
If you want to vote a private z-address here's the guide.

When you start Agama. There is Notary Elections 2018 on the top left corner.

Click it.

Enter your private key (or wallet seed) and click Login

You can either make 4-way or 1-way vote.

If you choose 1-way vote, enter a public VOTE address, e.g.,

RG52fygAqKrhepNCeVn1CwYZeS785XshMV

which is the European (EU) Notary Node VOTE address for Komodo Pioneers.

You also need to enter an amount, i.e., how many votes you want to give for the VOTE address.

Click the region of the server you're voting for. EU if you're voting for a European (EU) Notary Node.

...and finally click Vote
