What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

I consider myself to be an “empath”, meaning “a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual”. Since I was little I have always been in tune with people's emotions around me. For the longest time I felt it was a burden, because I soak up the emotions that surround me like a sponge. As I have grown up more though, I have found it to really benefit me. I have learned to ask more often how people are doing or how they are handling whatever may be weighing on them in life. I know when a soft voice is a must is a necessity and when some one may need to hear the truth in a stern voice.

How does empathy help you build better software?

When you develop the skill of empathy, you are able to work at a more efficient level with others. When you are able to listen and respond in an appropriate tone, you are also heard more in return. Teams that enjo

What is your greatest strength and how do you know?

According to the results of the survy, my greatest strenght is that I'm cooperative-practicle. Meaning I "process in a straightforward, sincere and supportive manner. I am relational, optimistic and often content with my roles. I focus on the issues at hand and value broad, general guidelines." I personally thought that this explained me perfectly, I'm very passive and am happy to help in anyway that I can. I'm not afraid to ask questions, or to stop and farther explain things to others that need it explained in a new way.

How do you work best? I work best surrounded by others.
