Whenbot Channel Development Reservations

Below is an informal list that people can use to show which Channels they're working on. This will help prevent people from working away on a Channel, only to later find out that someone else was doing the exact same thing.

But, really, this is mostly a learning exercise; so feel free to work on any portion that you'd like, whether or not someone else is working on it.

Note: We'll have instructions on how to contribute later. For now, just sign up and start researching the API of the service you chose.

Reserving Your Slot

To reserve your slot, just write your name next to a Channel, like so:

  • Twitter - Ned Flanders

Multiple people can choose to work on a Channel:

  • Gmail - Luke Skywalker, Mary Poppins

In this case, consider getting in touch with each other to see if you're both up for working together on this Channel.

A tip on this: Check the Wiki's "Page History" for their change, and send them a message via GitHub). If you can't find them, check for their name on the Google Groups list,

There should be enough work for two to three people to work on each Channel, so feel free to get in touch with anyone who adds their name to a Channel and combine your efforts.

If you'd prefer to work by yourself, just add "(solo)" next to your name:

  • Flickr - Professor Farnsworth (solo)

People can still add their name to your Channel, they'll just be doing their own thing, or they may team up with others.

Here's a complete example:

Twitter - Spongebob Squarepants, Patrick Starfish

  • Triggers: New Tweet, New Follow, New Tweet with Hashtag
  • Actions: Post Tweet, Follow User
