Working draft of professional story (1-2 paragraphs)
## Working draft of professional story (1-2 paragraphs)
I’ve always loved all outdoor activities. I grew up in a big family in a house on tip of a mountain. Any chance I could, I was playing outside. This is something that I want my children to experience as well. I earned a B.S. in Natural Resources with Management and Policy so I could protect where I recreate. After seeing how applications and code could make huge impacts on social issues I wanted to learn how to code. At Turing I have learned the skills I’ll need to make positive changes to how children view the natural world and also to help adults reconnect in ways that improve their lives. I seek to use my knowledge gained to work for a company or industry that works to educate and protect the environment. Whether it is skiing, fishing, hunting, or camping I will ensure that future generations can enjoy the outdoors as I was able to growing up. This is career path upon which I could support my family financially, and at the same time be a producer an

Tragedy of the Commons
Write (15 min)
We'll explore the concepts from Parable of the Polygons (PotP) within the context of diversity in tech.
* Let's say tech executives (consciously or subconsciously) seek teams in which at least 1/3 of team members are like them (gender, age, race). How will this impact the types of jobs available?
This will add a subtle bias to the decision process and potentially hire someone like them rather than the most qualified candidate. The process of segregation will begin. The group will become at least 1/3 like them but more than likely it will quickly become more than 1/3 like them and the process of segregation will escalate as the newly hired people will probably seek others like them and the segregation will escalate.
What are you doing well as a pair programmer and collaborator?

I am available to work together and can effectively work as driver navigator and on screen sharing from our homes. I work very diligently and help maintain workflow and track it with waffle.io. I am communicating well if I need help and if I have feedback for my partner.
* How do you use your strengths as a team member?

Being aware of my strengths encourages me to be my best. My strengths allow me to help my partner stay on track by building a relationship and through that getting to know one another. My enjoyment from learning extends to teaching my partner whenever there are knowledge gaps.
* How would you like to continue to develop your strengths

I would like to continue to be cognizant of my performance and my efficiencies so that if I notice decrease in either area I can re-focus and use my strengths to bring me back into peak efficiency.
* What would you like to improve on as a teammate?
## Feedback II reflection:
* Date of feedback conversation:
12/8/17
* How did you prepare for the conversation?
I wrote down my thoughts about how the project had gone, including what had gone well and what we could have done differently. I also thought about my personal contributions and performance

Agile Practices and Workflow
## Written reflection Agile:
* How you've used agile as a process at Turing and what kind of project management tools you utilized:
When I first came to Turing I had a general way of doing things and approaching projects. I was already using aspects of the Agile to plan out and break down a project into manageable pieces. Since I’ve been here I have learned about Agile and I have adopted the practices. Starting with the DTR each of my project partners and I would make a plan of what needs to get done and how we are going to do it. We also used resources like waffle.io to organize exactly what has to be done, track their process, and assign responsibly. Followed by a Sprint where we have to get the work done with in a short amount of time. To improve for future projects I would like to be more efficient with my process and application of Agile in my projects.
I played many roles throughout this mod with my project partners. It is makes sense with my strengths as a relator and an includer that I am comfo
## Plan for outreach & networking as you go into Module 3
Meet-ups/Networking Events: Identify 1 meet-up and/or other networking event that you'll attend between now and the end of Module 3. Answer these questions:
I am planning to attend the React + D3 and Drawing on a Map with deck.gl happening Tuesday, 16th, 2018, at 6:00pm which is being held at Turing in Clarke Hall.
* Why will you attend this particular event?
I recently learned the language and I want to get to know some people in the industry so I can feel out if I want to pursue jobs with React in the future.

Gear Up Reflections
**Gear Up Reflections**
1. Growth Mindset:
The growth mindset gear up was two totally different experiences, from M1.1 to M1.2, for me. Originally I thought I had a growth mindset coming into Turing or I wouldn’t be here, but after going through a second time I truly have a growth mindset. This session exposed some areas of my life that I had fixed mindsets about and that has allowed me to target them and fully embrace growth. Now I no longer think or say that I can’t do something, now I say I haven’t learned that YET!
2. Getting Better at Difficult Things:
This session helped me recognize that I need to see the progress through the struggle and to embrace difficult tasks. I really like the analogy from the article, “I felt, as I always feel, like I was stumbling around in the dark. I still feel like that. But I also feel like I am getting better at stumbling.”. That really describes what it is like to learn to code. Seeing failures as simply the path to success is a paradigm shit in thinking and one t

Strengths & Storytelling Reflection Guidelines
Build on your professional story by thinking about how you're progressing at Turing. Answer the questions below in your own gist to use your StrengthsFinder themes to add to your story:
Write 1-2 paragraphs about your StrengthsFinder themes: How have you seen yourself using these strengths at Turing? Has your understanding of these strengths changed since you first reflected on them? If so, how?
I have seen myself using my Strengths in that I am able to relate to others becuase we are all in the same strsuggle
Write a story about your Turing experience so far: When have you struggled? How have you dealt with struggle? When have you succeeded at Turing? How did you accomplish those successes?
