Skirts? They wear skirts? It was the first thought that come to O'Neill's mind. Especially since they wear skirts over their pants. Not exactly what he was expecting from the other new kid on the block. While SGC and SG-1 was busy sowing chaos and infighting in the fracturing Goa'uld empire, there was another teams of explorers quietly ingratiating themselves with alien powers on the galactic stage. Somehow, that went from Lyia of the Nox to Thor himself. Specifically, Thor said that this polity is very interested in an alliance, and is very close to Earth's technological level. Hammond could not approve the mission fast enough.

Observing further, the trigger fingers were off their M-16 look alike. They were alert, but not too overly twitchy. If there's one thing that O'Neill want to see from his adventures, it was less unfriendly aliens, whether humans or not, trying to torture or kill O'Neill and his team.

"Hi, we are SG-1," Doctor Daniel Jackson said. "Representing the United States of America, one nation among many on the planet of Earth. You may know us as the Tau'ri. We are seeking knowledge, technology, and most importantly, allies among the stars in our fight against the Goa'uld."

The other skirt wearing team launched into an excited discussion before settling down.

"Your reputation proceed you. We are the Ymaryn E1 team from the nation of Dual Monarchy, representing the United Nations, the supranational organization ruling Earth."

"Earth?" Jackson asked to clarify.

"Ddaear," she said in her language. That caused Jackson to perk. "Before we explored the stars, Earth was the only planet we knew, and as far as we know, the origin of all humanity. We have fossil records to attest to that."

O'Neill was no scientist or sociologist, but he had his fair share of encountering too many science fiction things in the galaxy. Now he thought about it, the herald on their uniform looked suspiciously like Earth, if slightly different. He knew what he was going to be doing next. It was going to be a grand adventure on an alternate Earth.

Thor did mention that it was going to be a surprise.
