How to install DeFRaG ( on windows )

Hi this will walk you through the steps of installing DeFRaG!

This guide was written nearly a decade ago, for a more updated guide, see the DeFRaG Racing guide

Step 1

• Download and install the engine:
• https://ioquake3.org/files/1.36/installer/ioquake3-1.36-3.1.x86.exe

Step 2

• Download and install the game data:
• https://ioquake3.org/files/1.36/data/ioquake3-q3a-1.32-1.x86.exe

Step 3

• If you've purchased Quake 3 Arena you may download the pak0.pk3 file here:
• https://github.com/nrempel/q3-server/blob/master/baseq3/pak0.pk3

Step 4

• Move the pak0.pk3 file into the baseq3 subdirectory wherever you installed the engine & game data

Step 5

• Download the DeFRaG Mod & iDFe Engine:
• http://q3defrag.org/files/defrag/defrag_1.91.25.zip
• https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BxHNb39hE49iTWh3TWpBMzdtOW8

Step 6

• Extract the DeFRaG Mod zip & iDFe Engine zip into the same directory where you installed the engine & game data, it should NOT be in the baseq3 directory, it should be in the same directory AS baseq3

Step 7

• Generate a config and move it into the baseq3 directory

Bonus Step

• If you want excessive plus, just download
• https://www.excessiveplus.net/files/release/xp-2.3.zip
• Place that in the same directory as baseq3
