Mentor Outreach Documentation

Documentation Guidelines for Cold Outreach I Deliverable:

  • Name of contact

    • "The mentor (or alum) I contacted is Marina Corona"
  • Date of contact

    • "04/16/2017"
  • Outcome (i.e., did you get a response? If not, what is your follow-up plan? Did you meet? When? What was the result?)

    • I knew Marina prior to attending Turing and she was one of the driving forces that pushed me to apply and join the program. She has been incredibly helpful throughout the process and I'm really grateful for her encouragement and support.

    • We are going to meet some time in the next week to catch up on my experience and on her experiences after Turing and to discuss mentorship and technical interview prep.

  • How do you feel like this relationship will benefit you in your longterm professional development?

    • Having known Marina for some time I know that she is both a great developer and still deeply committed to the Turing community. What I hope to gain from this this relationship is someone who can help guide me on the path to becoming a full time developer after Turing. I also hope to follow in her footsteps as someone is is committed to the long-term success of the Turing program. She is now running tech interview prep which is something that I want to a make a focus for the rest of my time at Turing.
