I'm orangera1n. You may know me from the Windows and iOS scene. I'm one of the youngesst people in both comms. Today id like to share some harsh experinces ive had in the Internal Archive scene.
Also, I should mention that you should read everything. There is no tl;dr, and the people who actually read the entire message with a serious mind would earn lots of respect and trust from me. I know this message will surface to Internal Archive's Discord, in one way or another, and I know people will skim over this, and I know that many people will not agree. I also know, in the terms of the Internal Archive Discord, that I will get a lot of "ur 14" and "ok" jokes and comments. I also strongly know that the staff of the server may mock and meme this writing I made. I understand that. However, I'd like people to read this with an open mind, with my open feelings being written here.
To start off, there are good parts of the communities i'll describe, not everything is bad imo. I believe their "help" forum is amazing, when it comes to needing quick, immediate help with internaling. There is also some people in the community that are great to talk to, and I made nice friends as well as networked with a bunch of people. Those are some big points that I love about this community.
At this point, I will begin by sharing some experiences that changed the way I looked at the Internal Archive. For some context, I will refer to 2 people. lucifermorningstar is an executive of the Discord, and Anika the aardvark is an active user there. I should also mention that I have blocked Aardvark before, due to his consistent poking at me because of me being immature when younger, and him getting pissed when I call him out for getting pissed when I post pictures of things I found. Here are a few examples of his messages.
Please note that Rule 1 of the Internal Communtiy Hub Discord is meant to protect this from happening. I have repeatedly asked him to stop, but he continues to harass me.
Also, not everyone wants to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on internal devices, or risk getting scammed one on.
I've also called out there ovbious ageist policy of only accepting people above 15 years of age, even for non-sensitive postions, yet they make exceptions. Sure there are young and dumb kids, but there are also people well over that age who are dicks.
I'd also like to call out lucifiermorningstar for their blateant accusing me of dickriding johndoe123. Sure im friends with him, but I've been friends with you guys too.
They've also shown lackluster enforcement of the no fakes rule.
I'm not gonna comment on the ra1ncloudteam drama cause idgaf.
I have left the Internal Archive discord server.
If anyone on the Internal Archive team is reading this and would like to apologize, I am open. I am optimistic that one day, the commmunity will reform and become a pleasant and strong community to express themselves with appleinternals, and not to be elitest dicks.
These experiences, and the experiences from other people, justified my action to leave and cut off interaction with their community. I hope that this informs you about the actual reality I have faced with them. You may not realize it now, but you will realize it eventually.
