RapPad Community Guidelines

  1. Posting gore, porn, or any other "shocking" media for either attention grabbing or otherwise, in Chat or any other parts of the website gets you immediately banned and your content removed.
  2. Spam is against the rules and you will typically be warned first. The following constitutes as spam:
  • When you share the same piece of content (such as a link, rap, etc.) more than once a day in the Chat section. You are allowed to bump previously created threads.
  • When you create new threads with meaningless topics that don't spur conversation. (threads with titles such as "yo" or "sup")
  • When you create multiple threads in a short period of time (for example, 3 threads in 2 minutes), regardless of topic.
  • When you create a new thread with a directed title, 'i.e Hey user, come chat here'.
    • This is not even effective; post on their wall where they will get a notification.
    • You can continue the conversation without bothering other parts of the Chat section.
  1. Hate speech, cyper bullying, or threats are not allowed. Since this is a subjective issue, an admin will make a call on what this constitutes. In any case, you will be given a warning beforehand.
  2. Creating a new account immediately after you have been banned is not allowed.
  3. Stealing lyrics from the internet or other RapPad users and using them in battles, cyphers, or any other area of the site where recognition is given is not allowed.
  • If you copy lyrics from any source, to either analyze or keep them then just set them to private so only you can see them.
  1. Commenting on threads that were created more than 2 months old with no valuable contribution to the discussion is not allowed.
  2. Hijacking threads to get people to check out your battle, rap, or other content is frowned upon.
  • Hijacking is when you share a piece of content unrelated to the ongoing discussion in a thread.

Violations

When you break a rule, an admin will post on your wall and occasionally on the piece of content that violates the rule. You generally only get one warning. After that your account will be banned.

When your account is banned all your raps are set to unlisted and your profile picture is reset. In some cases, your account is completely deleted along with props, followers, raps, etc. This action is irreversible, so even if you manage to appeal a ban you'll have to deal with it.

Warnings

For any of the above you may be warned first before getting a ban. You'll either be warned on the piece of content itself, or an admin will leave a comment on your profile page, outline which rule is being violated, and hopefully with a screenshot.

Appeal

If you would like to appeal your ban to gain access to your account again you can email the admin that banned you in the first place. If you email the wrong admin, they may ignore you. (i.e. don't contact me if Tenodera bans you, contact him). You can find contact information for admins in this sticky post.

You can also make a new account (but not in the same day, otherwise it will be banned immediately) and begin building your reputation anew.
