Mod Team: Guidelines + Policies

Attendance

Attendance is never considered mandatory, however moderators who are incommunicado for an extended period may be unmodded so that individuals who are able to be present can be given moderation privileges. This is not considered a poor reflection on the individual but a necessity in order to keep a healthy moderator presence in chat. If you are unable to attend a stream that you normally attend or will be absent for an extended period, please use the moderator channel in discord to let the team know so that others with availability know to be present Emergency Contact In the event of an emergency, please contact the broadcaster or Mod Manager, to alert them of the issue immediately so that they can handle the situation. A ____ message is the best way to get ahold of Streamer yourself. Examples of an emergency include: Stream did not end automatically after a raid Bulk bot follows Hate raids Shield Mode Shield Mode is only to be used in emergency situations. Details will be provided when such a time arises. Chat Rules Zero tolerance policy for hate speech, bullying, threats, or discrimination Swearing is fine, just don't try to hurt someone Please keep heavy/controversial topics out of chat, streams are an escape for people No self-promo unless invited by Broadcaster/mods Be kind

Unwritten Chat Rules

Only Broadcaster, mods, and VIPs can post links ALL CAPS IS ALLOWED, and should only be policed if someone is excessively spamming the chat outside of a quick joke No overt sexualization of people No graphic/inappropriate topics Chatters are not permitted to rudely demand the streamer to do certain things No doxxing of individuals Spamming of chat is strongly discouraged, with the exception of instances when directed by Broadcaster Moderating Chat Welcome new chatters and raiders in with a friendly message Thank gifters for subs, bits, and donations Help alert Brroadcaster to activity they may have missed Kindly remind people to not self-promote Gently referring people to the #safe-space and #mental-health-resources channels in Discord if they put something heavy in the chat (we have a !safespace command you can use) Slow mode is only to be used when directed by Broadcaster or the mod manager, or when chat is moving at such a rapid rate that monitoring of chat is too difficult - once chat speed settles down or directed by Broadcaster, slow mode should be removed as quickly as reasonable Emote-only mode is only to be used when directed by Broadcaster or the mod manager

Discipline Policy

When in doubt: ask in the discord mod channel Any hate speech or discrimination should be an instant ban, no need to ask Broadcaster Other rule violations can begin with a warning via whisper, repeating the behavior should result in a timeout (the amount of time is subject to your discretion) and repeated violations/clearly disobeying mod/Broadcaster instructions earn a ban Deletion of messages containing a rule violation should be performed immediately if necessary, then the warning can be issued.

Misc Tasks

Create channel point predictions and polls Remind Broadcaster about little things They may have forgotten about (i.e. pay out a channel point prediction but never did) Assisting Broadcaster and the community with the queue for gaming (we use the Twitch extension: Play with Viewers and have the commands for it below) Pinning messages that suit the situation (only pin messages when Broadcaster does not have a pinned message for the stream) Assist keeping the flow of chat and stream relatively on track Commands

How to make commands

Please do not make commands without Broadcaster specifically asking or giving the ok! We like silly commands, but also try to be intentional and not excessive with them to promote conversation and easy reading in chat. We also like to have unique commands - so please do not create commands you’ve seen in other channels just because you like them. Let’s come up with fun ones that are special to the community. Send a message in the mod channel if you have an idea for a new command There are commands to help you moderate! You won’t always have to type out a reply to someone, there may be cases you can just put a command in chat (i.e. !ttv !age !safespace and others we come up with) If a command or timer is out of date, note the needed change in the discord moderator channel so that it can be addressed. Try to not disrupt the flow of the stream unless a command needs immediate updating.

Queue Commands

!open to open queue !close to close queue !clear to clear queue !move to move players in the queue !queue to join the queue !leave to leave the queue !random to randomize the queue !list to display the queue in chat !pos or !position to find place in line !add to add player to the queue !remove to remove player from the queue !rotate to move live players to back of line
