This dataset expands upon the transfers made by FIDE chess players in Federation (Country) Represented that originated in this Dataset

Goals

I have expanded the original dataset to include more columns including federation (the current federation), rating information to determine how skilled a player this person was, title information, ranking information for their current federation, continent, and worldwide ranks.

This allows people to expand on the original questions asked of the parent dataset produced by 538 by including the players' skills in their visualizations or analysis.

Interesting Columns

Active Rankings : These columns not only show a player's skill relative to their peers but also show their activity, indicating if they are currently (2021) considered an active player by FIDE

ELO Ratings : These columns indicate raw ratings that show their skill level compared to other players. These will help provide context to comparing rankings between regions to determine strength of field.

Current Federation : This indicates where the player ended up after their transfers.
