Adb useful commands list
Hi All!
I've recently launched a tool that wraps many of the commands here with a user interface. This desktop application is currently available for macOS. There's a roadmap outlining planned features for the near future.
Feel free to request any features you'd like to see, and I'll prioritize them accordingly.
One of the most important aspects of this application is that every command executed behind the scenes is displayed in a special log section. This allows you to see exactly what’s happening and learn from it.

The flag you decide to use has to come before the actual adb command:

Setting up your .bash_profile
Finally, to make this all reusable even after rebooting your computer (aliases only last through the current session), we have to add these to your .bash_profile. You might or might not already have a .bash_profile, so let’s make sure we append to it rather than overwriting it. Just open a terminal, and run the following command
touch .bash_profile && open .bash_profile
This will create it if it doesn’t already exist, and open it in a text editor either way. Now just copy and paste all of the aliases into it, save, and close.

is there any command to set current_user name ?

No.

Is there anyway to idendify at which coordinates the screen was touch in a specific app in a given timeframe?

No!

Command for IMEI number returns with Can't find service: iphonesybinfo. I think its supposed to be adb shell dumpsys iphonesubinfo but that just returns nothing as well.

Is there an ADB command to disable a broadcast receiver of a specific app? Just as autostarts app does it using root, but I want to do it using ADB since my device isn't rooted.

is there a way to allow access to android\data folder? i have android 14, can access, even with pc, copy paste fails. plz tell a way, even if it does only work with PC.

For Android 12 and up (including latest Android 14 update), system files are "read only" and do not support copy, replacing or editing even if the phone is rooted. You can get the root access (via Magisk, etc), you can see the system files, and... this is all you can do. What you have to do is making the system partition RW. For some phones will work, but for most of them, not.

Try installing Shizuku. Several fiilemanagers support it and give you access to android data folders. No root needed.

@Thorfinn66 in a neutral/standard mode? Nope, it's the /data folder that holds the enryption data.

Edit: If you know the password and want to get access to the data you just need to type the cmd lock settings commands to verify and it should be up if your screen or similiar is broken.

I just got a phone (new phone so I can’t root it .. warranty ! ! ) running on Android 13 Go Edition and I want to make Mxplayer Pro as my default media player (already installed). There is no default set on the phone for any media player. I need a working “adb shell command” for this job … PLEASE help. I found the ‘package name’ for this Mxplayer Pro (com.mxtech.videoplayer.pro) in the phone BUT haven’t found the suitable adb shell command anywhere on the web.

@MolGupta make sure you turn on debugging mode and check cable if it is connected or not, or wireless debugging remember to check port , and also check package name again , I remember it has 3 checking package's name commands !

@imlehongphuc .. looks like there is no Activity Class by the name "ActivityMain" as is in your command. Android 13 uses API 33.

All about adb available online now is of older Androids and this OS is changing so fast that even if you purchased a new phone it begins to run huge updates when you first connect to internet.
Is there any adb command which ‘returns’ the different class structure(s) of the target android OS of the connected device??? As I understand this information would be easily available from the libraries used for compiling the OS… nothing much is available online for newer version of Android(s).

My main problem now is that I can’t put together adb command to make a media package as default app, so:

What is the "class (name && members)" for "Default apps" in android 13 (API 33) ???
Using the older adb commands available on the internet RETURNS errors……..
