DISSOLUTION / / TABULA RASA UPDATE

Additions:

Incapacitated state: When injured to death, and solely if the player is a living human, before dying you become incapacitated. When incapacitated, you are down on the ground with a life pool of 20 health points (10 hearts). When taken down, the damage you didn’t take is transferred to your incapacitated life pool (if you have 2 hearts and take 4 hearts of damage, you get incapacitated with 8 hearts), and you gain an effect named “bleedout”. Bleedout damages you by 1 health point every 2 seconds. When incapacitated, all aggressive mobs continue to attack you, neutral ones stopping after incapacitating you. To leave the incapacitated mode, you can heal your wounds with bandages and get back on your feet, or tap out by clicking the corresponding inventory button.

Death mechanics: Upon death, your corpse lays down and your soul exits your body. You will need to find a new body to host your soul, and undead are perfect for this. By right-clicking an undead mob (may it be a zombie, a skeleton…), your soul will enter its body and therefore you can control it. That comes with all the advantages of the specific mob you control (slowness arrows from strays for example), but be careful, because that also implies you get his weaknesses (burning in the sunlight for example).

Items:

  • Bandage: Crafted with a piece of paper and a clay ball, bandages are notably used to recover from incapacitated state by restoring 2 incapacitated hearts and stop the “bleedout” effect. In GRIM mode, they can be consumed to restore 2 empty hearts. When using a bandage and aiming at a player, you will apply the bandage on them (common to all types of bandages).
  • Cactus bandage: Obtained by right-clicking a bandage on a mortar containing mashed cactus green, they are used to recover from incapacitated state by restoring 4 incapacitated hearts and stop the “bleedout” effect. In GRIM mode, they can be consumed to restore 4 empty hearts.
  • Pure water: “Clear and beautiful, almost mystic” Obtained by combining a water bottle with an azure bluet or a white tulip. Gives a clear blue throwable potion that purifies the body of an undead player. When applied, the undead hearts will start to get gradually covered by normal player hearts at the rate of a regeneration II effect.
  • Glass jar: Crafted with glass, these jars are used to capture wisps. Can be placed as a decoration by shift-right-clicking on the top of a block
  • Wisp in a jar: “This strange blue flame never seems to extinct” Upon capturing a wisp, it will enter your glass jar. You can release the wisp by right-clicking on a block with it. Can be placed as a decoration by shift-right-clicking on the top of a block

Weapons:

  • Scythes: Scythes are two-handed weapons that deal damage in a radius. When unequipped, it is displayed on your back. List of scythes:
  • Iron scythe: Basic scythe, crafted with iron ingots and sticks. Deals 6 of damage in an AoE of 2 blocks. Can gather crops with an AoE of 3 blocks. Slow to use (3,5).
  • Lurking scythe: “An ancient scythe with a strange decoration” Found in nether fortresses, it’s an old yet upgraded version of the regular iron scythe. Deals 9 of damage in an AoE of 2 blocks. Can gather crops with an AoE of 3 blocks. 10% slower to use than an iron scythe (3,85).
  • Ethereal scythes: “This scythe looks alive, staring at your preys and watching around” Currently creative only, these scythes are one of the most badass weapons you’ll ever find. They turn off and display in the back when unequipped. Deals 12 of damage in an AoE of 3 blocks. Can gather crops with an AoE of 3 blocks without using durability. 25% faster to use than an iron scythe (2,625).

Blocks:

  • Crucible: Crafted with iron ingots, a crucible can contain up to 8 units (items or liquid). By placing it close (one block near) to a heat source (lava, fire, in front of a furnace…), you can melt what’s contained inside, and for example, craft mercury with cinnabar. By shift-right-clicking it, you’ll reclaim it and everything it contains. Place it again by shift-right-clicking it on the ground. You can take full liquid blocks by right-clicking on it with the crucible.
  • Mortar: Crafted with clay, a mortar can be used to reduce to powder 1 item. By shift-right-clicking it, you’ll reclaim it and everything it contains. Place it again by shift-right-clicking it on the ground.
  • Coffins: Used to skip the day like beds are used to skip the night, but can only be used by undead players. Available in various style and materials, for rustic or classy vampires alike.
    • Stone burial
    • Wooden coffin
    • Obsidian coffin: “Locked from the inside.” Resists to explosions.
  • Passeress statue: By right-clicking on the statue with a pure water bottle, you will be prompted the option to toggle on or off the improved death system. After this choice has been made, the water in the statue disappears.

Entities:

  • Wisps: Wisps (or Will-o’-the-wisp) are strange blue flames randomly roaming in the world at night. They tend to appear near lament stones or in swamps. They can be captured into a glass jar by just approaching them like experience orbs.
