Web3 Apps for the Next Billion users

Elevator Pitch

Web3 orgs have raised a ton of capital, built an awesome community of developers, and have grown everything but one, USERS! It's time that web3 apps bring about a paradigm shift by improving product features, focusing on simpler user experience and lowering the barrier to entry with tech abstraction.

Description

When God said let there be Web3, it came with a promise, to give the control of data back to the people. Although the foundational technological innovation of having multiple blockchains that use different algorithms to optimise transactions and multiple layers that solve different blockchain bottlenecks, there has been tremendous growth in these areas, there's one thing we are missing as web3 developers, we've been only building products for developers and not layman users. Most web3 products are too technical and have a huge learning curve not to mention they are mostly supported on desktop and don't offer native mobile apps.

It's time that we as developers shift our focus more towards building web3 products that will solve traditional problems and invest in simpler and intuitive UX or adding more tutorials to help users understand the steps required easily transact on the Decentralized app.

This talk will address these issues, and present the areas where we can bring a shift in paradigm, Dapps that can be built to solve traditional problems, utilities that blockchain was praised for when it was first discovered, for example, authenticity, identity and interpretability. Apps should also showcase the unique benefits of using blockchain and how it differs from web2 platforms. We'll explore how we can work with legal systems to actually build apps that solve real-world problems.

We'll discuss common product flaws and how we can better improve design and product thinking to build better web3 products, tools and technologies we can use to move to mobile native experience, what kind of contributions are required by the community to build a better mobile web3 ecosystem that competes with traditional web2 applications.

The talk will also have a small coding session where we'll build an example mobile app, showcase the implementation of good design and UX, the fastest way to build the application prototype using Flutter and the tools and SDKs that can be utilized to connect to blockchain networks easily.
