This guide was created to document my home network build and now it's here to help you. You'll probably need help along the way; use Google and/or one of the AIs.
Why? I wanted to have better visibility of network traffic so I could see things like the robovac, baby monitors, and smart devices (TV, etc.) to make sure there's no weird stuff going on. I also wanted to implement a basic level of security to be able to block ads, lock things down for kids, and encrypt DNS.
I decided that broadly I would install:
