M4 Reflection

Fork this gist and answer these questions to reflect on your learning experiences.

  • What brought you to Turing?
    • I wanted a change into a new field. I spent way too much time fixing old things and want to apply my passion for learning into creating something new.
  • Where do you see yourself after Turing?
    • I would like to be in a stable position that allows creative freedom in solving problems or utilizing technology in new ways.

I am interested in Technology and what it's possible applications can do to change up the monotany. Both from previous work experiences and looking ahead, I want to be able to learn more about Technology and be rewarded for finding applications in everyday life. I have a lot of experience with fixing old things and want to make a life out of creating and maintaining new things.
5 of my must haves when working at a dream job:
1. Learn/work with new things
2. Find new/better uses for technology
3. Be challenged
4. Help/Teach on what I have learned
5. Self Direct
If I could only choose one of these I would most like to Learn and work with new technology or ideas.

5 Things I learned in Github today

  1. T while on the webpage for a repo, will bring up a fuzzy finder.
  2. The blame button while viewing a file on GitHub will bring up a visual log of what was changed and when. Also allowing you to highlight lines to draw attention.
  3. git log --author= will allow you to search in the terminal for commits by a specified person.
  4. git diff in the terminal will allow you to see what has changed between files.
  5. git diff --staged will allow you to see what has changed in your staged items before a commit.
