When have you had to deal with failure? What did you do?
two different answers here
- In college I ended up struggling severely, and my gpa was below a 1.0. The only class that I passed was my computer science class. Now, I had taken almost two years' worth of college classes in highschool, so I knew that the material wasn't the problem. I was presented with two options, either go on academic probation, or take a year off, and I felt that going back into the same environment without reassessing my support structure and the tools that I had in place wouldn't accomplish anything. While I was discouraged, over the next year I spent my time researching my options. The eventual decision I made was to enroll in a coding bootcamp. I was actually underwhelmed by the computer science program at CSU, and I wanted to take something more concise and practical for the actual software engineering field. While the bootcamp was actually more challenging, I felt that I really hit my stride much more easily, and I felt like I was finally actually pushing my without this xp I probably wouldn't be who I am
What is an area of growth for you?
- I've made significant strides in organization. I have adhd, so being organized can be a challenge for me. However, even though it's something that doesn't come naturally to me, I greatly value organization in my life and my work. Having my environment organized helps reduce stress and streamline my life. My found an arsenal of psychological gimmicks that help me to stay one step ahead and ensure that I can always find my way to an organized state.
