An app to make it easier to connect pets who need new homes with those looking to add a furry family member.
Pet overpopulation is a big issue and too often families resort to just dumping animals in shelters or out in the streets. Also, mass breeding facilities are often not very humane places for the pets they breed.
To solve the multifacted problem around pets, this app with help connect animals that need new homes or families who can no longer care for animals with individuals who are looking to add a new pet to their family. The App will not only connect available animals but their proximity to the user.
As described above, both people who need to give up an animal as well as people looking for animals. Also, rescue centers and shelters can utilize the app to promote the animals at their location.
- Name, photo, and details of pets available for adoption
- Contact info to adopt the pet
- Ability to create an account to list a pet you have available for adoption
- Map showing the location of the pet
- Possibility to request a particular animal and get notification if/when something matching your query becomes available
- The use of SMS/Email notifications & Location Services
- Also potentially some sort of function to match/identify lost/found pets to return them to their homes - match images of animals in shelters and listed in the area of where an animal was marked as missing
