Agile & Feedback Reflection

What have you learned about the use of agile vs. waterfall in software projects?

I have learned the importance of having checks and balances. Being able to more frequently test your project before you move on to the next stage is very handy.

How did you and your group approach project management in this project (what tools did you use, how did you hold each other accountable, etc.)?

We used Trello. We kept it up to date by assigning Methods to ourselves and moving it along a progress bar. This way we could see who was completing what was promised and when.

What role did you take on in the project?

I believe I was a leader, but not the only one. Between myself and Kathleen we were able to produce great communication and assign tasks to everyone based on strengths.

Reflection Questions

  1. What roll does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

Over the course of my thirteen years in customer service I have learned to listen. When I listen to my customers I can start to understand them. By putting myself in their shoes and being empathetic I can most effectively help them. I also use these experiences in my personal life. The relationship between myself and my boyfriend have never been stronger. All because I listen.

  2. How does empathy help you build better software?
